I'm probably not that good anymore but that is quite irrelevant to my point. I've played both games and made the comparisons, more people should do the same.

Though most players that try out AG for the first time end up quitting after the first game because of how hard it is to learn. And the fact that most AG players that are still playing today have been playing for a long time it isn't easy for someone wanting to learn to do so due to the difference in skill.

Saying that quake is easy to master is not true (dont want to insult you hey)...

New players were quitting after first game in q3 as well since there wasnt many newbs in it after a while (few years ....) so it started to die (like that hl mod). Now here is quake live so - many newbs starting (like myself) - easier not to ragequit after getting your ass owned IMO. Your comparision is pointless

Quake is no doubt a great game and it is a lot of fun but I still am certain that if given the chance AG would do the E-sport scene more justice by allowing truly skilled players to shine.

@meckerarma I've seen enough of HL AG mod..it looks like one of the many derivatives of Quake. Maybe it's just your preference but Quake is the mother of all death-match. HL AG mod may prove to be this and that and be popular but it isn't..and even if it was..the truest of the true hardcore gamers would lean on Quake..after all the people who made Quake invented FPS...without them there would be no HL AG MOD.

@meckerarma you'd be surprised at the difference between "getting good or decent at quake" and "mastering the game." because yea you can get some lucky shots and all that but quake is far more than just point click shoot. quake should actually be its own genre of fps just because of strafe jumping which is not found in any other fps.

this video is a bunch of average quake players that got some lucky kills. if you want to see some real action and skill watch replays of tournament matches etc..

I know what you're talking about and in fact I absolutely agree with you. I have no quarrel against professional quake players, they are really good. Strafe jumping is just a weird version of bunny-hoping and I agree is quite special. Not nearly as special as the movement in Adrenaline Gamer though. I'm not here to hate on QL or any other game, I'm just trying to promote my favorite game and argue as to why I think it is the best FPS in the world.
