Take The Dark Knight for example...

They took out a whole building dressed up as a hospital, smashed vehicles up, spent tons of cash creating scaled-down model versions of things to smash up, or make it look like they smashed them up. Then there was the scene where the joker set fire to a huge pile of cash - which almost made the Chechen cry. "It's not about money, it's about sending a message!!" God I love that movie.

And just to comment on how everybody is getting so worked up over him "testing" these cameras: Stuff gets destroyed all the time in the name of making videos, movies, cinema, etc. Some of it is just cheap movie props, but some of those props are probably worth dozens or hundreds of these cameras alone and yet we don't gripe about the destruction of their value. The true value is in the entertainment gleaned from watching the video itself.

I accidentally dropped my Canon Digital Rebel XT on concrete one time and though the camera continued to function fine - the lens (50mm 1.4 USM) had problems with the autofocus working properly. I haven't had it repaired yet, but I think the cost will be around $200 to send it off to Canon.

Why? They opened again after they crashed into the DSLR, thus obviously they measure if they hit an obstacle or not.

Safety light barriers obviously only cover a tiny area, if you hold your camera somewhere else the doors are going to close.

@CelticAllianceClan Do NOT buy a dslr camera for video recording, they overheat very quickly and are a pain to shoot with for extended periods of time. your best bet is a HD camcorder(video camera), like the sony HDR PJ10, or JVC's everio class.
