  • Fuk tHA pOlIcE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • these cholo chicano norte sur gangster stereotype is the reason that our people get hate and racism from not just whites, but even from other Hispanics, blacks, Asians, even Jews, Italians, Indians, Pac Islanders, Hawaiians, Arabs, etc. don't blame the white man for your own problems you inflicted on yourselves. you gangs are a cancer/disease to our people, human advancement, communities, speaking of cancer, you gang idiots even could have found a cure for cancer. go figure. read a book.

  • a mother should not go thru that ,hart breakin story

  • i wonder where is he right now :|

  • yes history repeats itself

  • My brother who was in the first part of this documentary, has just made parole is Colorado. Vato Loco will be coming home within the month after a very long 10 years. The Russom brothers moved to Colorado and for the most part stayed out of trouble.

  • I remember this well. My brother is in the first part of this documentary. I was in prison at the time of the filming. My street name was Poison. Anyone out there remember me? Can contact through danrussom@yahoo.com.

  • No that article is wrong they lied to cover a cops ass because they beat him to death because he wanted to see his daughter! N they did nun to that fucking cop! My TIO did not hang himself!!!

  • Arthur parkin said q/vo

  • @EmmyMartinez Orale .

  • THATS MY FAMILIA. The police killed my uncle all because he wanted to see his daughter... The cops beat him to death and just to cover the officers ass thy said my uncle Jerry hung himself!!! That's nt true FUCK THE POLICE!!!!

  • shit been through all that hate the police since i was 14 they got me for murder suspect wtf had just gotten to that place and out of no where hela cops came hate them since

  • that dancing in the street scene was great, kind of explained their plight- they just want to have fun and enjoy themselves, but when the institutions (police, schools etc.) "kick" you out, you have no choice but to "dance" and live in the streets.

  • so the police got away with the murder (okland cops are the worst gang in okland)

  • RIP IN PEACE TO ALL THE SOUTHSIDERS NORTE BLOODS @CRIPS ASAINS WHO DIED ON THE STREETS FOR THIER CUASE FUCK COPS DIE SLOW GOD BLESS THE REAL FOR THE REAL STILL LIVEING DNT FALL FOR SATANS BULLSHT LIES ITS A TRAP TO PUT US YOUNG GZ IN HELL RIP ZIG ZAG RIP KING RIP CHUBS RIPD RIP TO MY LOVED ONES GONE NEVER TO COME BCK

  • To be honest, these people in impoverished urban areas in gang families & in dire straits are good people...in bad situations. But we need to chose how not to get in bad situations to produce gang-related violence in the community. In 1982, the US was recovering from a recession that deindustrialized working-class factory towns like Oakland & urban decay peaked from the influx of whites into the then-segregated "pricey" suburbs, The story is repeating itself in South L.A. & East Oakland today. +

  • @demikede1 This is happening in New York city to as well

  • you people judge but u dont know

  • these never end well.

  • "if we don't learn from our mistakes, we are doomed to repeat them"....this is the case with chicanos, neglecting their children and allowing them to become gang members or even just hanging out with gang members.

  • its sad and a tragedy what happen to the parkin family but through these trajedy theres lessons to be learned and to the parkins that are still here may god be wth you

  • I Remember this I used to kick it with Carlos back in the days In 1977... Its so sad that Oakland hasnt change much but gotten worse.. The DEVIL is running down the streets collecting bodys... Thats why i got the hell out of there.... The DEVIL WASNT GOING TO TAKE MY KIDS FROM ME... But if you ever see this Carlos its me Dina from Alameda ca... I hope all is well....

  • @PITTSBURGGL I don't want to go off-topic, but with the US economy in shabbles & Cal.'s economy is worse, there's a big wave of anti-Jerry Brown fervor from his time he served as Cal. governor (1975-83) & mayor of Oakland in the 2000s. Also to note many old-time urban voters claim the Democrat party is to blame for creating welfare dependency to assaulted a close-knit family culture of Chicanos & African-Americans, the small minority are neo-conservative & rather attend church to find charity. +

  • @PITTSBURGGL i knew a girl dina from alameda ca do you know any camachos

  • 2:12 tears me up

  • fuck the police

  • 41st psychos and the 60's, WHAT HAPPEN WITH THEM ? ARE THEY STILL ACTIVE THE AFILLIATION WAS SUR OR NORTE ?

  • An entire generation of followers and misled undisciplined teenagers dieing cause there brought up in bad families and/or bad neighborhoods damn get help, FUCK PEOPLE SUCK

  • this gangbangin shit is stupid these people need help. people get crazier and crazier every year record high murder rates because some feminist mother decides its better to take away there iPod touch and there iPhone than to actually discipline there kid. i think feminism has fucked up the whole 90's & 2000 generation cause kids dont know wtf is good or bad and the girls are equal to men and can sleep with whoever they want and have 6 baby daddys my own familys like this gang bang and baby momas

  • Cool doc.

  • who remembers the arcade on 23rd & e.14 though

  • yea i sort of remember it wasn't it called mikos arcade . i also remember a grocery store on 25th ave and E14th st behind macdonalds that use to have arcade games as well ...

  • @bago510

you remember it. haha thats was gramps spot. and remember Mico had the other arcade on 52nd right next to the big shop back in the early 90's. yup i remember that store goin' there as a kid. how bout the old "indoor"!Much luv Bago keep keepin' it real and tellin' it like it is.I didnt personally grow up in the town but my Famila comes from Oakland and i do gotta alot of homies from the East. Real G'z and they would all agree that all them killings need 2 stop!!

  • Thank you and much respect for posting this up.

  • Seriously, someone needs to update us on the specifics of what happened to all of these people.

I am sure everyone out there is wondering what happened to the characters and how.

again, this is a brilliant documentary. bago you seriously tapped into memories stored deep within my subconcious when you posted this man.

As sooon as I heard Ms. Parkin's voice I remembered the names Jerry, Carlos, Dan...

My cousin was in a gang, and watching this made me wanna be just like him....

    tnks again

  • there all dead....i showed my parents this..my dad was apart of the 41st psychos and my mom was apart of the 60's.... the mom killed herself. she jumped out of a car on the freeway...sad

  • I remember I was in Ms. Marsala's third grade class at Skyline Elementary and we watched this movie back in '94

A member of the Oakland PD came into show it to us and educate us on gang violence. All I can remember is the cop ragging on Ms. Parkin on how she never could control her kids. This cop said that even after they showed Jerry's death.

It is really profound to watch this 15 years later. I remember when I saw this idolized Carlos.

    God I love this Documentary.

    THANKS for PoSTING!

  • thegreenblazer1 well bean from what i hear is still alive not sure if hes still in oakland . his brother dacing dan passed away in 2005 of natural causes . sadly to say mrs parkin died in a car accident on 880 in the late 80s like in 1988 or 89 . my homie twinkie is still alive and lives in sacramento now . but i seen this on pbs when i was a kid around the same time style wars came on pbs .style wars was a documentary about graffitti writers hope that helps ...

  • @thegreenblazer1 what happened to georgie parkin

  • The Milroc I used to go there then Diamond park

  • Wow that was very touching and sad ending. Thanks so much for up-loading.

  • Comment removed

  • we wear our hats like that again with the bill flipped up hahaha

  • I remember a few of these guys from a bar called The Millroc.

    Different times back then.

    lowered impalas derby jackets.

    E14th was the strip

I had friends that went to Street Academy

I ended up at Dewey though.

  • i remember the millroc and i also remember when e14th st was the strip i used to cruis it on weekends in the mid 90s all the lowrider car clubs would be out there those where the good old days now everything is all fucked up in oakland ....

  • yeah I remember the 90s in oakland it was all about lowriding and cruising an ben davis an shit.. I don't live in oakland anymore but yeah it was live back then.

  • C4liChicano yea in the 8os and 90s chicanos did have there own seen the lowriders used to cruise on E14th st on the weekends . every one dressed cholo style derbys bens dickies dockers also .some fools had mobs with trues and vogues . remember in the late 80s and early 90s jack n the box on 25th ave used to get cracking on the weekends thats how you know your from the old school also do you remember troop clothing and the old school clothing store the corner .. ...

  • You notice he said "HELLA" a couple times! Thats been around forever i guess in the bay and norcal.

  • good video ..but sad that things have not changed..

  • mucho gracias for posting its appreciated! <3 ....I wonder where they all are now? :|

  • sad to say many of them are dead now many where killed by rival gangs and drug dealers back in the 80s . i personally know 2 fudes on this documentary that are alive and doing good but there kids are going down this sam path . i hear bean the main cholo on this film is still alive . it's all part of the vida loca ....

  • @bago510 why doesnt bean get a dam job and be a man for once

  • @RadiclExtrmstNorteno for the same reason most gangmembers don't both Noretenos and Surenos . they would rather do drugs get drunk or do stupid shit then work .

  • @RadiclExtrmstNorteno We need a follow-up of "Bean" in his older years: has he landed a job & not returned to jail? Did he found a woman to marry & settle down with? And does he still live in Oakland? Alot of things have happened since 1982. Differences & changes in the community occurred, but gang life hasn't changed and the causes of gang formation is still with us. We need to promote a better economy & prevent family breakdown. Welfare reform in the '90s changed how the inner city is doing. +

  • @demikede1 i heard he's workin in a taco truck somewhere.

  • iam jus shocked in how gang life hasnt changed, it makes you think maybe gang life was the same since the beginning of time, we just live in a cycle of things repeating, i love watching these day school things, THANKS FOR UPLOAD, u mexicans are crazy man!

  • This was a great documetary, it was really well done. I'm suprised that no major distributer has picked this up.
