Watch carefully. Both of them catch the ball with two hands, but Blake goes up single handed. Watch both of his tries, especially on the second try it's easy to see that he couldn't finish because he couldn't grab it properly with one hand. Demar just did a simple two handed dunk, the ball was always in both his hands. It's not the same dunk.

ok first of all for people bitching about blake's dunks, he's 6'10 and 250+ lbs. of muscle, yet tries to dunk like a 6'6 smaller person would. (michael, vince, tracy) he just physically isn't supposed to be that aerodynamic. For a person of his stature, i'd say he did pretty damn good.

@killercro55over Javale McGee is 7'0 250 lbs. and Blake Griffin is 6'10 250. I can argue that it's harder for McGee since he's taller, it's always harder for a big man to jump higher. He might have a longer reach but the vert has nothing to do with the body type.

@DamianR305 im sorry, but vert can do alot with it. and yes javale has crazy long limbs, and huge hands, hence some of his very unique dunks. what do MJ, Cater, and some of and 1 players like the air up there all have in common? they aren't that heavy, and have lean muscle or more slender body types. its just simple gravity, the heavier you are, the shorter time you will stay in the air

I don't think Blake deserved to go onto the second round. Blake won by one point over Demar, that wasn't by accident. From what I hear, this is before the dunk contest, and during the dunk contest, Blake coppied Demar. Demar's first two dunk is FAR better than any of Blake's dunks. Regardless on amount of attempts, both of them screwed up a lot. Ibaka screwed himself over. Jevale and Demar should have been in the finale. Its too bad the NBA named Blake the winner before the contest...

Watch carefully. Both of them catch the ball with two hands, but Blake goes up single handed. Watch both of his tries, especially on the second try it's easy to see that he couldn't finish because he couldn't grab it properly with one hand. Demar just did a simple two handed dunk, the ball was always in both his hands. It's not the same dunk.

But the old school dunk contest...they liked the power and there are old school judges judging the contest ...so there IS some truth behind griffin's power in his dunks. But I don't think his off the side windmill should've been a higher score than derozan's first dunk
