@ThanatosMrk2 I have no idea what a paslode impulse gun is. And of course it needs an pneumatic line, its a air powered nail gun!

@TheMightyKinkle Right, a "Paslode (brand name); Impulse nail gun (product name)" is a nail gun (tool) which drives nails into timber (wood) by means of a piston. The piston is driven by means of an explosion of Air, Butane gas and a spark generated by a battery. In the comercial they have put a dummy air hose into the hole where the battery for the mixing/ exhaust fans and the spark is normaly located. Now relating to my previous coment and in my best Homer Simpson voice "i was being sarcastic"

actually the "safty mechanism" you ppl speak of is no more than a spring that can be removed so the gun can be fired without touching the nose, alot of contractors do it on "piece" jobs because it becomes alot quicker....and dangerous

it depends. People have been know to be stabed in th head with 6'' knives and still lived to tell the tale, but mainly becasue they where so lucky it missed the main parts of the brain. I depends where it goes in to the head!

do they only fire the nail if you press it down on the wood because it pushes that bit down and i thought that might be a saftey device so you cant just fire them into the air?

Yep, exactly. Sometimes that bit that pushes down is the trigger and the trigger bit is the safety; comes out to the same thing, though. :)

You cant fire them in the air because there is a trigger that you press against the surface of your nailing material and only then you can start nailin'

Ah, but that safety mechanism also extends back on most nail and staple guns, allowing one to pull the trigger with one finger and the safety mechanism with the other, thus making it possible to fire into the air. Not that I would know this from experience...
