second all facilities were incomplete and there was nothing except classrooms (even no air conditioning), third they raised the tuition fees, fourth they ignored our petitions regarding everything and finally we feel that the university is run by a bad administration and as students we act upon it as we have learned and we can see all the graduates and what they have achieved and its not because they had money. the president of maldives (auc graduate) did not become president bcuz he had money

I just wanted to make a point and tell you that whatever happens, AUC still remains one of the best in the Middle East whether you like it or not. Do not try to convince me that everyone is happy wherever the hell they are. AUC is a good uni, but it was only normal that we go through such problems esp that the uni was getting relocated.

This is a WHOLE country's SHAME, the problem isn't just in AUC.

The problem is with education, its been ever so corrupted. its not just in unis, its spreading to schools too. And what is it that you have against AUC anyway? we're still number 1 among all, companies still look up to us, and you can say all you want, we're not going anywhere :)

its also enough that the ppl I mentioned graduated from there. Look at the marvels they did, and ARE doing.. they have changed lives and still are :))

Unfortunately, a series of unexpected events and news were popping up that many of us were against such as :unexpected increase in fees, high cost of food, dormitories that weren't completed and us having to stay in military units until we got our actual dorms on campus. this is not to mention that so many facilities weren't open that affected our learning inside the classrooms.

Let me enlighten you plz..The strike took place Fall'08, and I'd just like to draw your attention that the strike was not a matter of fool w ta3meya. We, as AUCians, were protesting about so many things that were affecting our parents' money and savings and as us students studying in AUC.

i like the fact that AUC students now are protesting things that affect their community, their daily lives. Probably that's the healthiest development that came with the move to the new campus.
