Jeez! I forgot just how awful the animation for this show was. I only made it through 5 minutes of this. Still, this was made back in days when CGI was relatively new for TV series. The voice acting is ok though

The animation on the kremlings is so fluid and dramatic. I love it! It's like watching a theatrical play. Every movement and expression is in itself a little artwork. :) Love it. This is what I'm paying for college for -- to put off homework while watching some underrated cartoons that aired in my childhood. Aw yeah.

Oh man I remember watching this when I was a little kid aged 8... I had just managed to get my hands DK64 by then. I've been a DK fan all my life, mind ya!

The voice acting isn't as bad as I remembered. Perhaps because I saw the Dutch dub back then. DK's expressions are hilarious.

@lotten16 For some reason, at least one character on a TV show needs a catchphrase, usually a stupid one. Nelvana decided that DK needed a stupid catchphrase, so that's why you hear him say Banana Slamma. King K. Rool also got one too, every now and then he says "This is my finest hour".

1. K. Rool is actually a pretty darn active king. He often leads the charges himself and personally oversees his plans being executed (of course, he usually gets Banana Slamma'd for his troubles). There's even an episode where he builds his own satellite all by himself.

This show had potential, if only they had gone with a 2D look (3D would've been fine a couple of years after this show was released) and found a better voice actor for Donkey, he sounds like an 8 year old with a flu putting on a Jamaican accent.

You can see two elements that Rare used in DK64 in this ep. The Crystal Coconut (or Coconuts since there's lots of them) to power the Kongs' potion effects, and of course Cranky's potions which give them new moves.
