My NPR 362 also uses the laser pointer which is really great to have. In a nutshell the Nivo is a great unit. Would I buy one, yes. But for now I'm holding on to my Nikon NPR 362 which is basically the same as the Nivo. The difference is only the cosmetics. They change the style of the body. I hope that is helps. It is a great unit. It has great precision optics and Nikon is known for that. Gee! I sound like a sales rep. for Nikon. I should get commission for writing all this.
I have the model before the Nivo came out, the NPR 362. I really like my Nikon. Good quality and precision. The Nivo has the laser plumb which I don't like. I prefer the optical plumb because when you are out there in the field sometimes it is hard to see the laser dot on the ground with the bright sun light. It is great to get your tripod and unit in the ball park but the optical works the best.
@aweenovember Thanks for the reply. Can you make a video show from Office to Field and Field to Office steps of just four basic point drawn in a CAD drawing program. In other words show a video how you draw 4 points in a CAD program export it to your total station and stake them out in the field. and then reverse the process by shooting 4 points in the field download it into CAD. That would be totally awesome if you could. Please let me know.

@itsmonti1
1. thanks for sharing your views.
2. Currently using DTM-362 ( similar to NPR-362 but without laser & reflectorless option )
3. i read the specs, laser plummet is optional. Yes, optical is easier in bright
daylight but laser plummet is better in dark indoors ( inside buildings ) & dark tunnels. I am okay with either optical or laser plummet.
3.
