i can't belive this is on youtube ! i found a cavity tape by the dumpster when this girl was throwing out her boyfriends stuff when i was 13, sorry for his lose but i've been in love with this band ever since. cavity, floor, torche love them all !
@xlester7x Yeah, Rene Barge!! That's him! I used to play session guitar for Cavity whenever asked. We played the Fiesta Grande 5 show at Gilman Street in California. Please tell him to contact me. Dan, Rene, where are you guys???
record store shows are always fun to play. you never know what's going to happen. we played a cavity show in alabama with NAIL, and KILARA at a record store. people went nuts. the band FLOOR used to fill the place up with smoke using a dry ice machine. they did that at a small record store once here in miami. it is unknown to this day if people ever stoled anything.
retardgroove i just wanted to halla and say thanks for posting this video. Ive watched a half dozen times. Im a big fan of power violence, sludge and crust punk. Cavity fuckin rules. I have a great flyer hangin on my wall from a Spazz, Cavity, and Capitalist Casualties show at 924. I loved those days of how Sludge bands always teamed up with Power Violence bands because we were the misfits of the punk scene. Check out my band sometime. Buzzardstein from Mississippi.
people that play in slugde bands are hardcore punks that love the black sabbath style of music. i think the first band that did it was black flag when they used to play with saint vitus. that style rubbed off a little on the flag guys.
ah yes, cavity rules!!! hello dan and rene! this is luis from miami. let me tell you, i played guitar with these guys a few times; we did the 'fiesta grande' show in california, and also played with man is the bastard in los angeles. dream come true for me. thanks guys. it was always fun to play. dan (bass) was one of the hardest working dudes in the scene, and rene (vocals) is a real guy. what you see is what you get. miami sludge-core!
dont know if this is real cavity wardrich but it kickt my ass if you dig allso check bongzilla, enewetak, sleep, noothgrush and 16 and thanks for posting all this cool shit retardgroove
I'll have to check them out. The reason I asked was because a) it was sort of hard to hear, b) at the time of my original posting, I'd only heard 3 or 4 of their songs, and, c) I pictured them looking waaaaaaay different in my head. haha.
I remember you guys. Like I said in another post, I picked up your record at another band's show, and found some stuff on the internet. When I hear guys in bands that say stuff like you just did, I wonder how many people I never met heard one of my bands? Guess I'll never know. Rest assured, at least a dozen people I knew in Detroit dug Molehill.
Seems like this would have been prior to Laid Insignificant, probably more like ...Between the Train Station and the Dumping Ground era. Definitely the same band, though.
rock'n roll!
