In agreement to what you said in your video, this is what some other person said on YouTube about the M.I.A. Video Born Free! "To put it as simply as possible, the video is about genocide, "racial cleansing" as some like to call it. MIA dealt with this growing up in Sri Lanka and it still happens to this day in many, many places. she got the idea of using redheads from her collaborator on the album, Rusko, who is a natural redhead and said he used to get beat up as a kid for being a 'ginger'.

Basically it's using a recent discriminatory group to symbolise real genicide. By using gingers it allows people to relate to genicide. It makes people feel guilt for a little bullying because they feel fear of a ginger from the video. They also are shocked and the video has impact because gingers and part of society and it'd be outlandish for this to happen, yet redheads are slightly segregated from the rest of people which makes people believe in it in the back of their mind.
