I think that a lot of this is born out of the idea that people think they *need* a significant other in their lives--the media teaches us this, it's culturally ingrained into us. We don't actually need that other, that hookup, that person to help us get through life.
So we walk around with that sense of entitlement, and eventually we meet up with someone who says, "I'll fulfill what you feel entitled to, but you have to give me what I want in return."
I have this friend who I used to talk to a lot online and on the phone. On my birthday he offered to take me out, this was last year. We went out to eat and to a movie. I would not consider that prostitution because we had no intentions on sleeping together. We are just friends who wanted to go out. Oh and by the way he and I never slept together and never will because I will not have sex outside of marriage. I will wait until I am married to give my body to my husband. I think all women should.
@SMJGraphicArtist this really is about a spiritual principle, and the video author was really close to the point. This whore mentality is the norm for society at large, an example is how many women require a man to have certain status(price) before she will date him, car, house, job etc... its the same as an actual streetwalker giving the price for a$25 bj.This goes for men as well.
holddd up.. why is the guy titled "gigolo" but we are "prositutes" ???? hmmmm very one sided.. the act it self is prositution weather it's a male or female...
@adia03 look lady, men and women often have different names for things that mean the same, however the truth is nothing is the same for men and women, its not a double standard either. Its far worse for a woman to be a prostitute than 4 a man to be one. Don't get bent out of shape , gigolo is just the name of a male prostitute, although both are prostitutes it still is worse for the woman, that's just life honey. Uncovered holes in the ground receive many raindrops! catch my drift?
I agree 100 % brother, I have been saying the same thing for years. Here's my deal, some of these women don't seem to know that they are prositutes. Don't get me wrong, I like a good whore every now and then. I mean you want something from me and I want something from you. But it can make a brother have a really bad outlook on some Ssters.
I think that I understand what you're getting at, but the argument is lacking. One point that I didn't hear, is the intention. There are people who genuinely (sp) expect to be taken care of by there partners, not for sexual payment, but because that is the basis of their relationship. Yet, if someone is solely spending time with another for money or objects, then that is indeed prosititution.
I am a little confused by this video. I get the rent and hair part but a guy paying for dinner. How does that make a woman a prostitute? Maybe I do not understand the full contect. I pay my own bills and have never had a man pay they for me. But I also do not believe in premarital sex.
let's remember that in society in the USA, women have historically earned less then men and have been encouraged to be dependent to a certain extent on their mate. a man who proves to be a provider for them monetarily has been encouraged by all. To label men or women as prostitutes is a modern idea. I as an enlightened/spiritual person deal with facts based on a history of injustices to men and women. The false value awarded to wealth is a man made idea to oppress women. So is prostitution.
actually, the idea of prostitution is not modern at all..though your point is well taken regarding history and culture, to make it short:this is a mans world. Too, women here and internationally have always made less than men. As far as the idea of prostitution goes women have done then what women do now..exchange sex for money or gifts..its sad but true..aside from traffickers and pimps..many women trick by choice..even if it is for the rent or car note
Dead on, a lot women refuse admit it, but they are nothing but dishonest hoes and prostitutes. They use whatever they can (their body, sex, looks, or pity) to extort things from others (male or female), but they do not want any of the responsibilities or labels that come with it. A hoe is a hoe, no matter what type of wrapper you put around it.
so true so true. thus i pay my half on all first dates. i dont want you thinking you are paying for sex. waited a years and some months to make sure i will like it and so glad i did. it is worth the wait and i am worth so much more than a silly DINNER AND MOVIE. go on ... tell it.

This is how we make ourselves vulnerable.
