@maspaisimilikiti no, there are no problems with the monitor. I've been using the monitor for years. The bug is long since fixed. I don't know when exactly, but at least since Natty came out.
Strictly speaking, it's a probably with the video driver, but I was using Linux in the distribution sense, not the kernel sense....although drivers get compiled into the kernel somehow don't they? My knowledge of kernel architecture is basically zero, but I know some drivers are in there.
