**Continuation of my previous comment** I have really short hair (not cropped...just short) and my clothing style is quite androgynous. I don't know if I'm gender-queer or whatever...don't think I'm L or Q either. I guess I'm just somewhere floating happily in the middle. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I don't get people asking much anymore or using male pronouns. I live in Chitown so being "different" is "normal" and everyone just goes with it however you look. We understand uniqueness ;o)

wow you really thought that through...thanks for your insight. It helped me because I've not really been asked that word-for-word, but I've held doors and someone will say, "Thank you, young man." Or I'm on the train with my dad and the conductor asked, "Is that your son?" I'm walking with my grandma and a gentleman say, "Who's that nice fella helping you?" It used to really bother me, but like you say, I'm asking for it.

Whenever I can't tell if someone is a boy or a girl, I ask them what there name is. It's a bit easier to tell. For instance, bluechease's name is Lily; obviously a girl. Random cute androgynous person on the street's name is Steve; obviously a boy.
