  • Nice job. Now is the time to enjoy it!

  • Oh God -why cant i find something so total great like this - i dont even have luck with the lottery...

  • Oh my God, it has a CB!

  • The 190 was a nice car, but the performance didn't even come close to the 300SL.

  • What an awesome find. Merc just doesn't make them like that anymore!

  • Its like watching an old Merc do a Christine.......

  • Awesome video!! I love this car! Greetings from Italy

  • fantastic to see the time lapse photography.

a sensational car and find... finds like this are impossible in the uk.

i esp love the pale blue colour ...

    db [ brighton uk ].

  • stunning stunning car

  • Great vid! Awesome clean up job!! Some people wouldn't have the determination to at least do that. I appreciate someone who takes time out to pay attention to detail and have respect for a machine of the past. Great work.

  • she had it apprasied and I paid her full asking price. Funny, she said it was totally original, never hit, found out after I cleaned off all the dirt and dust that it had a fair amount of hidden body damge and filler. Seems they forget stuff like that...Must have been quite an accident, and not remember it? hmmm. I paid the full price based on her story, which in the end was not true.

  • @tommiller356surf I know how that feels. Are you selling that? or the silver one?

  • did you pay a fair price to the old 90 year old woman? or did you take advantage? what did you pay and what's it worth?

  • thank you for the compliment!! just bought another one in silver!

  • Good for you! What a beautiful car!

  • Love stuff like this , top work

  • The 190 SL was a cheaper alternative to the 300SL, which cost as much as a house. Still cool, though. If you found a 300SL, it's like winning the lottery. ;-)

  • amazing. thank you for posting. a real gem indeed.

  • i would love to buy that car off you, what would you see it for?

  • thanks

  • Thank you!! glad you like it

  • that is awesome mate

  • For thsi I feel GRATEFUL! thanks for the complimnet!

  • nice job tom...your a hell of a lucky bastard!! :)

  • Nice work - you lucky man!

  • @wreaksrevenge Yes, I fell lucky every day thankyou!

  • Amazing! I watched the video of Andy Williams and Deniece Van Outen singing "Can't Take My Eyes Of You". Denicece is driving a Mercedes 190 SL, like Grace Kelly's. I loved the car and Googled it and found you! Our family has a long history of being car lovers and this one is spectacular! What a find...indeed! Enjoy!

  • @baileybanter Thansks it was a really fun project!

  • WOW that car just came back to bright shiny life!

  • @Minus42Zero Thanks, a bit of elbow grease goes a long way!

  • Well done, that is a great job. I sinecrely hope that you are proud of not only the car but yourself too, I would be.

  • Fantastic, I can only hope I will one day find something like this to restore myself. I hope she gave you much enjoyment.

  • yes, and it was fun too!

  • Nice to see how you bring this beauty to live again!

  • some work, and some don't, You heave to try a liitle of everything, Tom

  • Great find. I'm not sure about Groit's Garage products though. I ordered the leather conditioner but it doesn't really smell good out of the bottle so I'm wondering if I should even apply it.

  • Well, thank you!

  • Congratulations, what an amazing piece of history!

  • well, 20 years ago, no car phones (practical)

  • that must have been the easiest "restoration" after a 17 year sleep ever. gorgeous car, great color scheme, but what was that 91 y/o doing with the CB radio?

  • can't say.

  • how much did you pay for it?

  • true... glad you liked the video

  • Nice find, these cars have lots of curb appeal, but are VERY under powered. Still fun to drive though.

  • looks almost like a Karmann Ghia from the side. :) sorry for comparing that to a Karmann Ghia being from a totally different class. Beautiful car!

  • Beautiful job and wonderful car

  • nice to see a car restored to its former glory.would be nice to send the old lady some photos if shes still alive -remind her of her carefree days.

  • cant stop drooling.

  • about 98,000, if you are interested in purchasing one, go to my website an contact me, I can get others, as this is sold to a collector in Europe.

  • What a wee beauty. How many miles? How much you paid for it is irrelevant if you intend to keep it. More civilized and useable than a 300, and surely less tail-happy. Were the seats still soft under the covers? That car would be worth about $75K in New Zealand.

  • not as good as the gullwing but still awesome story

  • now that's a car!

  • in line 4

  • Gorgeous car...the color is a little funky, but still sweet.

Seems to be a lot of Gullwing design after thoughts in this car.

Is it an inline 4 or 6?

  • Wow what an amazing car !

  • Lucky you.

  • Great Video.

    Nice Job, Congratulations

  • Sweet!

  • Shes beatiful... Take good care of her

  • lucky the yanks kept the european car companies in business after the war!!

  • european cars are too good for a yank to own one

  • noooooooooooooooooooooooo you bastard you lucky bastard

  • Congrats on getting it back on the road.

  • Lucky son of a..*CENSORED* .... MAN thats nice..

  • how much you paid for it?

  • What a beauty!

  • incredible !!!! excellent video !!
