visited shooting surpplies about five weeks ago i went to buy a fx 400 royale got it back home over the moon with my new gun.took it to the range rubbish let a few marksmen try the rifle same again rubbish i tried eight lots of different pellets no groups at all took it back to the shop got fobbed off with all sorts of crud after visiting the shop with this gun for the forth time finally they sent it back to A.S.I HOPE I GET MY MONEYS WORTH BACK
Nigel...I found it pitiful that your Gov't has rendered you to an air rifle..you know how Gay you all look shooting that next to our American .50 cal's that we can all buy (if you're not a criminal)...how shameful you must feel.
nigel, what was the accuracy of this airgun like? and what sort of price would you be looking at? also, do most fx gunbs have this sysytem of a butt pad which will slide with you or only the royal? i really like that idea as more than often i have missed a pigeon which i could have had with a better angle, thanks,
Mine was the prototype, but it was very accurate. You could hunt to extreme ranges with it; I had a knock-down target over at 50m with repetitive regularity. I like sliding butt pads and wish I had one on my AirWolf. It's on all the current FX line-up. An adjustable but is also handy when you're shooting prone, too. Nige
what do people make of the .20? i thinking that or .22 on a rapid mk2 sub 12. does anywon know if there anygood for hunting cos .22 is great for sub 35 yards but .20 sounds like it would kill at 45yds. advice?
Not used .20 that much. Personally, I find that if you DO manage to establish a good pellet in the bore, it's so near to a .22 that you ma as well go for a .22! (That said, I'm still a .177 fan beyond 30 yards!)
well i had a quick go with a friend and it seemed quite good, would be great at FAC but at 12 ft/lbs like you said theres no point. 30 yards? i find my .22 with be good out til at least 40. but i never shoot past that so i wouldn't know :-/
@Pageyindahouse . Depends whatever suits you, really. If you're ratting, then you want a compact one. If you're after long-range stuff, you need one that'll take a bi-pod. Or if you walk lots, something light weight. I use a Daystate Air Wolf (heavy, but long-range accuracy) in .177 and a Theoben Elan in .22 (light and good for short range stopping power).
They're quite different rifles, Pagey! The Huntsman Classic is a very 'traditional', stylish rifle. Feels very sporter-like.Lightweight and great to handle in the field. The HW100 is a much heavier, more solid rifle. I prefer the T to the S... in looks and feel, but a couple of my mates disagree. I've got the new HW100K-T FSB (Fully Shrouded Barrel) at the moment. New-style thumbhole stock on it. VERY nice it is, too.
great video and very proffesional, and for a PCP its not a bad looking rifle, if your forthcoming live hunting vids are anything like this then they will be spot on and great watching...i look forward to em, 5*s:)
how much does ftlbs this airgun has at the muzzle 36 or 38 i saw both ,not its that important because there aint that much, but i wish to know thanks.
Typically it's around 38 ft/lbs maximum (on the high-power version), though it could vary +/- 2 ft/lbs according to pellet type. You get 60 shots/charge at that - and high power is only in .22 calibre. HTH
Yep. Just got some (proper) new gear and doing a video-editing course... so please subscribe and watch this space. Hopefully they'll get better and better. Forthcoming content is likely to be mainly gun test/review (maybe the odd sneak previews) , with some how-to stuff. Takes ages to do... but I'm sure I'll get quicker the more I do it! Your feedback's appreciated. Cheers!
No - this one done off my own back. You're welcome to send a donation, though!!! ;) I'll be doing more in the coming weeks/months/years - so stay tuned in. Glad you like it - hopefully you'll like future episodes!
Yeah, my mate's (above) is also buying one! I'm not a fan of FACs, but if it's half as good as it is in sub-12, you won't be disappointed. I'm hoping to get the full production model in .177 - THAT will be an awesome long-ranger.
Sub 12ftlb'ers and f.a.c's all have there place in the field, and if there's a job to do and gale force winds id be wasting my time taking out the 12ftlb'ers.
Ah mate that looks soooo much better on here. And honestly the royal really does look like its will be my vermy replacement.
Its precisely what Im looking for Rapid style bottle at the front and the quick sidelever. Its a pity its not the one like the vermy but I'm sure I'll get used to it.
New video now on. It's about my rat shoot with the FX Verminator. Why not subscribe to my videos? Then YouTube will notify you automatically each time I put a new video on.
you mean surpresser. and on an airgun there called a noise dampener. just some info

@shield400 Interestingly, the recent Benchrest competition at the Arizona State Championships was won with one (on an FX).

sheyon1000 1 year ago
hi, what scope is on that? what do you truly believe is the best pcp on the market??
Pageyindahouse 1 year ago
How accurate are these PCP rifles as opposed to break barrel?
My Crossman Phantom 1000 is very accurate with a 10.5 grain .177
pellet, once Ive calibrated it with a good Leaper scope, something like a
Leaper 6-24x50. I regularly pop a1 inch target at 35 yards with it.
I get poor results with alloy pellets or anything smaller than 7 grain pellets.
