Lovely canter :) It's easier to take sitting trot THEN ask for your canter, so then the transition is much smoother. Also try and sit deeper into your saddle. But everyone has room for improvement!! Apart from that it was a beautiful canter and you and Flare look gorgeous together :) Give her a pat from me :)

Totalhunterjumper the first time you canter it feels like ur sorta falling off but it's so fun once u get the hang of it. It feels like ur in ur siting trot but your going higher in the saddle when u start cantering don't look down because it causes alot of loose In balance

flare is cute, roll ur shoulders back, slow ur hips (dont hump the saddle), and bring ur hands up other than that u r really guld! u kept him collected he obv adores u and listen to u :)

Try to drag your weight right down into your seat, so your sitting rather than bouncing in the canter.

And remember to keep heels right down.

By the way, still a great job!!! I'm lucky to even get Lucy to canter that great!!!(Because the outdoor arena is frozen, we need to use the indoor arena, which is harder for her because it is shaped in a circle, not an oval like the outdoor arena)But I can still get Lucy to canter!!!

him/her frames very nicely. be sure to sit the trot while asking for the canter, and be sure to flow with your horse's movements. try gently thrusting your lower stomach(core muscles) out, up, and down and back. that'll help you flow with your horse's movement. try doing this while sitting on a wooden chair, and make sure you rock forwards enough to feel yourself sit on your seat bones, you'll feel it.
