  • Just proves women are bad drivers. yuk yuk. ;)

  • This is one of my favorite '50s sci-fi flicks. I got it in the "Classic Sci-Fi" boxed set that they sold in Barnes and Noble. It's not necessarily heady stuff. A Jekyll and Hyde riff with a scientific twist and without the commentary on good and evil. However, it's entertaining and keeps moving at a good pace.

  • NICE CLASSIC!

  • Cheesey monster. Very crappy looking film.....well, it's 1959.

  • @JeffrreyDahmer Like movies today are better...

  • what a film!!

  • im wondering: what would that actor have felt like when he played a monster in the 60's

i bet they said: You have the perfect looks for the role

  • Horror novel see video book trailer

  • Unhrealded Universal make-up man Jack Kevan did the monster make up/appliance in this

  • Cult Horror Novel - redcenturystoreDOTcom

  • I love how every single one of these B-movie trailers says things like "the most terrifying thing ever seen!" or "don't be afraid to scream it helps to relieve the tension". There are some pretty good and even creepy B-movies, but I just find it funny that ALL of them say those things.

  • @balrog13571 SO True, but you have to LOVE them!!!!:)xxxxxxx

  • @bawbaw222

Yeah these trailers always put a smile on my face

  • By the way, the prehistoric fish whose blood starts off this whole chain of terror is real. It's called a coelacanth (which is pronounced "seel-a-canth") and it was assumed to be long extinct, known only in fossils, till a live one was caught by a fishing boat in 1938.

Well...what I mean is...there is a real fish like this. The one in the movie is not an actual specimen.

  • The primitive anthropoid has funny-looking shoulders that busted out of his plaid shirt - they look like they're covered in white cotton candy. I guess that's how primitive men all looked.

I worry about that nice new 1958 DeSoto convertible that swerves off the road. I can only hope that it survived in good condition despite its horrifying crash.

  • like watching the entire version of that movie from a,v,a,t,z.net remove ,

  • I just ordered this one from Netflix, since I love horror movies, especially the black and white ones,I know I will like this movie. Love the werewolf like monster. Thanks for posting.

  • EPIC

  • My dog is a throwback too.

This movie is actually very good. The special effects might look hokey but they aren't any worse than the lame cgi on SyFy originals (see Rock Monster)

  • wow the werewolf at 0:50 this is soooooo disgusting. in today's movies the werewolves look like puppets but THIS is true horror. i surely wont watch the movie to avoid a psychical crash^^

  • I saw this movie in 1958 downtown with another movie ...was Dracula or something.

  • That dogs a throwback.!.....LMFAO

  • @handsupbud What is that supposed to mean (not being sarcastic)?xxxx

  • The minute a scientist takes an interest in finding "the killer" you know its him

  • This is pure cheese, but still better than any of the crap Will Smith or Tom Cruise is doing these days.

  • aah, Paul Frees. The voice of a generation of monster/sci-fi movie fans.

  • does anyone have the movie they can upload on youtube? Great trailer jimgroom. haven't seen this movie in years

  • you can tell me if the full movie on you tube is please

  • I watched this last night with the wifey. It's basically Dr.Jekyll & Mr.Hyde. It great comedy. Dr. Blake, Keeps touching his Silacant, a rare fish with legs long extinct. It was subjected to radiation on it way from Africa to his lab. So he turns into this caveman & kills somebody, then wakes up next to their body at the crime scene, twice! Each time he's more determined to catch the killer. It's a classic case of brilliant man with no common sense.

I give it five out of five stars.

  • could someone help me understand?

why did the woman in almost every old horror movie had to be carried off by a monster?

  • @queenlego

    Because monsters, Loves Da Ladies1

  • So the man would have a reason to pursue the creature, lol.

  • Absolute Classic.

  • I loved this when I was a kid-cant believe nobody has remade it in 40 years.

  • Everyone please excuse Sethern53 who is a moron and of limited vocabulary hence his use of profanity.

  • Does anyone know where I can find this movie to watch it...? I mean it's pretty old but no one has it on youtube... -_-

  • Netflix has it

  • I am sure Netflix has it but why rent it when you can watch it here for free riiiight???

  • you say no one has it on you tube... and asked where you can find it to watch it? are you verging on senility?

  • Look I idiot I am talking about websites not fucking blockbuster... God damn dude...

  • Narrator sounds like the dude who did the voices at Disneyland rides. Pirates of the Carribbean and the haunted mansion, as well as Disney movies.

  • this isnot a bad film for the 50s. arthur franz did a good job, the ax death of the ranger is unforgettable. this horror sci fi film historian knows these films and many of these actors. i have a website honoring them. we all seen worse than this but MONSTER ON THE CAMPUS is well staged and well acted good music and a good ending. lets enjoy not poke fun at these films. they will outlove all of us like it or not. thanks. tOMK

  • Good name for a Rock band: Antediluvian Dog!!!

  • Actually he said "antediluvian wolf". What are you some "half-human anthropoid"?

  • Hey Grillob802...Your right, but, "Antediluvian Wolf " would be a good band name too. You are also right about me, I'm a bit of a "throwback."

  • H.P. Lovecraft was one of many horror writers that loved using the term "antediluvian". I give the writers here some credit for knowing their literature. On the other hand "half-human anthropoid" is almost a redundant term. Despite that concern, I am sure I will use it as often as I can now when posting criticisms.

  • The brilliant Jack Arnold!!! Love that big dragonfly!!! The 50's!!! When monsters were fun!!!

  • One of my favorite. Scared me. Worth watching.

  • What was the name of the 50s movie with the monster that looked like an upside down ice cream cone?

  • Roger Corman's IT CONQUERED THE WORLD with Peter Graves and Lee Van Cleef!

  • It Conquered The World. Remade by Larry Buchanan as Zontar, The Thing From Venus.

  • a species of dragonfly had become a winged monster that has been extinct for over a 100 million years.

  • I once saw this brilliant black and white sci fi movie in which an alien crash lands to earth in a rocket. when it first comes out of the rocket it is small and looks like a kind of reptilian human. it starts growing and becomes the size of the statue of liberty. The problem is i dont know what the movie is called. Has anyone seen this movie and if so what is it called?

  • referenced in the deadly spawn 1983 they showed the movie poster!

  • Hey I went to college and this stuff happens all the time. What's the big deal?

  • I saw this when it came out (high school)

  • One of my favorites. It's funny the trailer goes ahead and gives away the death of Molly (Helen Westcott), which was the only big shock scene in the film.

  • LOL

  • I'm impressed they used the word "antediluvian" in a movie trailer :) Looks like fun, I'll have to Netflix it.

  • "Monster On The Campus" is an unintentionally funny title for what is actually quite an effective movie.

  • His fingers look like little dicks....

    BTW LOOOOL

  • Actress Helen Westcott(first victim hanging from the tree) was also the damsel in Abbott and Costello Meet Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. She has an incredible set of huge , nice tits which she showcases before her demise.

  • enjoyable Jack Arnold sci-fi horror. I saw in 62 and never forgot it.My hopes a good soul may upload full movie in parts. Treasure !

  • Anthrapoid??? Love the voice over guy! Nice '57 DeSoto convertible! Thats "Peggy" from "The Andy Griffith Show".

  • The voiceover guy is the legendary Paul Frees!

I first saw this on WOR's "Thriller Theater" during the early '70s. It was fun then, but I haven't seen it since that time.

  • the voice over guy is the one who says if you tell us who spartacus is...at the end of spartacus

  • these was the time of the coolest years in america nothing will ever be the same in america now.

  • those were the days when everybody thought mankind would soon die from an a-bomb and redevelope.

  • they still do, and no not everybody

  • It was the "silicant juice" what done it!

  • That was sweet.

  • I love this movie.
