There are anachronisms in the play itself: the request for a pistol, invented in the 1500s, and I presume Falstaff's reference to getting lead in his belly. Even sack was popular in Shakespeare's time, not earlier. Therefore why not have mix of costumes? It also helps to identify characters.
I was wondering about the schizoid choice in vestments myself... What about the prince dressed like one of the guys from "3 men and a baby" hella anachronistic
Something went terribly wrong on the costume department here: While the king is clothed in a fitting medieval chain mail with a tabard bearing the Lions & Lilies, the other folks are dressed like Victorian dandies in their fancy British Empire uniforms!

I know he shouldn't be, but Hotspur is my favorite character. I've never seen this before, but I wouldn't be surprised if he died...
