Yo! Do you recommend this board for a first time build? Cos this is my first time to buy a DIY computer and also kind of a budget build. Im going for a Core 2 duo E7400 and this board. Any suggestions?
asus pq5 editions own the nvidia chipsets for lga 775 because they have a much better fsb and overclocking capability... and the price is much lower.. so more for your graphic card.
well i ordered this motherboard with a connect3d 4550.the vga is bad but i am raising money for a 4870..now this motherboard has been awardes as the best platform for ddr-2 memories so shut the fuck up
huh, i've watched a few P5Q vids and they have these stickers over things like the cpu slot and ram slots and mine didn't have that.. must have stopped doing that.
Oh.. if you have problems - look into EZflash downgrading the Bios to version 0804. I had to, as have many others.
the p45 chip set gets monster front side bus..500+...nice choice p5q deluxe hase a 16 phase power just to cpu alone 2 phase for your ram...your m-atx probably only had a 2 phase for the cpu....16 phase thats f-ing crazy......stable oc's 4 sure....good choice
Yea you're 100% right. When I saw 16-phase I was like there's no way I would need that. I only plan to do a modest OC to 3.2ghz. But to anyone who does plan to OC higher this is the best board for it as far as power stability to the CPU.
what do you know about the BIOSTAR TPower I45 it used be a $120 budget board till some guy broke the world record with it for front side bus at ((724MHz x7)) now they go for $170...lol...i heard they have bad v-droop though probably not the best board for a high oc for 24/7 use
Yes it is. It gave me alot of issues at first but I sorted them all out. Make sure if you do buy it to use BIOS v803 and make sure your RAM voltage is at its rated spec and you should be fine.
im looking at this board right now trying to find a board for around 200 for a new pc build looking for stability and performance was gonna go with the rampage formula but getting pricey so this looks like a suitable replacement
Very nice! that board is nice! i love my msi k9a2 v2 very stable and good clocks.. i thinking about getting a northbridge and voltage regulater water block and doing a mostly water cooled setup :) the only prob is i cant do sound cause the 4870 and 4870x2 are in teh god damn way..
InVerTed: The P5Q Deluxe has 3 PCI-Express x16 slots for crossfire plus dual LAN ports. The normal P5Q has only one PCI-Express x16 slot for on graphics card and one LAN port.
I noticed theres a spelling mistake on the p5q deluxe packaging :D, they spelt double wrong (doubel) haha
