You need to get your history straight, there were no industry, highways, bridges, etc. before the african slaves were brought over. they were needed to provide the intense labor required to build those things, why else would they be needed at that time. get you head out of your ass!

My grandfather came to this country from russia in the 1930's and you know what? The government made him work in the Coal mines of Pennslyvania for 2 years without pay, because he was russian and russia was communist, (sort of like a slave) just so he could acquire a residency. And this was in the 1930's, but you don't hear me bitching about that. I am glad he did it, because now I am an american enjoying some of the rights that he didn't always have.

I am an Scots-Irish American. My ancesters didn't own slaves. They were poor dirt farmers in the Appalachian foothills. I earned my PhD in engineering by hard work. My parents couldn't pay for college. But because I earned goog grades, I went on scholarships. I won graduate fellowships to pay for grad school.
