Translating not literally allows puns and citations. The obviously native German translator (although Chris does speak a little German) made an allusion to the well known german adage (attributed to Martin Luther) "Wer nicht liebt Wein, Weib und Gesang, der bleibt ein Narr sein Leben lang" ("Who does not love wine, women and song remains a fool his whole life long"). I think the translator used some old-fashioned German to make it sound more "piratish" ;-)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure rhymes are universal in all languages. In this case "Weiber" and "Wein" do not rhyme. It's alliteration though, which is somewhat similar. It makes the song flow better, not only because the two words have the same beginning sound, but also because its probably pretty difficult to articulate "met" in their vocal style at the tempo they play at.

Correct me if I'm wrong though, because I speak no German at all.
