Hi, I have tried something and it works. I have only 6 columns , so i highlighted the head then ctrl shift down arrow then I named the open range as I know I increase only the rows. so when ever i enter more data the min & the max changes. send me if i did right. once again thanks for your video
Hi, thanks for the video. I have a question here. we gave a name to the range to be easy when getting the min & max etc. how can i give a name for an open range. means i enter everyday more rows but i need the min & max to change according to the data i entered.
just confused about why you used stdp instead of std in the final part. i understand it mentions population in the question but where is the population in the table. it just has observations. i used std on its own and it gave a different number
5)For comparison purposes if one data set has a small SD and another has a large SD, then the mean with the smaller SD more fairly represents its data points.
6)In loose terms, SD tells you how good your mean is.
7)In our example if the distribution of car prices is bell shaped, we could add and subtract the SD to the mean and then say that 68% of values should lie within this range.
Great video series. You go fast enough to keeps things interesting but not so fast that I can't follow what you are doing on the screen. Extremely informative and you have a great teaching style. I'm working my way through the 1st two playlists and then will go from there. I use a PC at work but a Mac at home so I'm learning Numbers 09 at the same time which gives me a headache sometimes. Thanks for your postings! Makes my life much easier.
I'm working in Open Office SS (similar to Excel) and entering dates which go from 2009 to 2010. However, when I get to Jan 4 which is the first Monday in 2010, the text reverts to 2009. I've been searching for the format of that cell and trying to force 2010 into it so that it automatically inputs the day and date but it keeps reverting to the day of 2009 and the date. Any suggestions? I know there's a cell format but can't find it.
Great job mate. This is the first ever post of mine and you deserve it. Really informative and in detail. Will endeavor to finish all the series. Could you please confirm if the order of the play list (for the first 4 play lists)arecorrect
1)excel basics
2)Highline Communty Class Advance
3)Lookup Function
4)Beauty of excel
BTW: love those in between jokes like Clean function...KEEP IT UP!!
Unfortunately, between the Stats class videos and the two books I am writing this year, I am booked up. I do plan do a huge Finance series, but it is not for another year...
If you treat your students with love and care, let them ask any question and when you don't know the answer you say "I don't know, but I'll figure it out and get back to you", and you learn new things every day, then you are as good as me!!! Let me know if you have questions (even ones that I do not know the answer to)!!
What software program do you use to copy the screen as you work on the Excel program? I use something similar called Fraps to create an .avi file while gameplaying, but Fraps won't work with Excel.
Thank you for posting your Excel knowledge. I find it very informative.
I think you shouldnt degrade the work of someone if you havent even posted similar lessons yourself
I have learned loads watching all his videos and I recommend you guys to go through them... It is clear, concise and worthwile to invest some time in them if you want to improve your Excel skills.
Thanks Excelsfun for doing them and keep posting some new videos
I really dont understand why he talked like this..he put a pressure to every word he says...it is really annoying..it is not fun to listen to your teaching when you speak like that make it simple but not that o.a speaking
Maybe that is the way he talks or maybe that is the way he teaches, whatever the case if you pay attention there is much to be learned from his videos.
Your channel has one video that doesn't belong to you and he has hundreds at your disposal, not for your ungrateful comments. So please do us all a favor and only post useful comments.
Excell,
You were right about people's comments, youtube is filled with many people like the one in question.

Great video and keep up the good work.
Would you know why would cell L15 give me pound signs instead of the result.
i cant figure it out but the other number do show up
3brigada4 1 year ago
Pound signs mean the column is not wide enough, or you created a time math formula backwards 9Beg time - end time).

In our case what does the number 12152.89 tells me? (stdevp)
vesee 2 years ago
Standard Deviation (SD) is a numerical measure that does these things:
1)Tells you the average deviation each data point is from the mean (AVERAGE function)
2)Is a measure of variation or dispersion
3)Tells you how clustered the data points are around the mean
4)Helps you to decide if the mean fairly represents the data points.
