I uninstalled this on my vista laptop but it keeps trying to reinstall itself every time I open a window!!! The only solutions I fine is a complete reinstall of the operating system!!
HP Smart Web Printing also crashes my Vista Ultimate Internet Explorer 7 as well but it crashes on exit so it restarts and I want the program closed but that did not happen. I looked online so the best solution I found was to disable the add-on under manage Add-on and disabled the HP Smart and the other HP Smart. Now it does not crash on exit. It was really annoying because the printer installation came with this program and I updated to the latest version 4.05. It shows there are still bugs.
Download Malwarebytes Anti Malware and go to your program files, HP folder and there is directory for it. Run the MBAM program and use the tool called File Assasin and you can get rid of the files Windows won't let you delete one by one, it only takes a few minutes, send me a message if you have any trouble with it.
i just uninstalled the program. If I ever want it again, its a free download from HP. It was slowing the browser down and it would pop up whenever i touched the touchpad. IT SUCKED!!!

it shuts my IE7 down also!! it has been a pain in my ass. Were you successful in disabling or uninstalling smart web printing?

I got tired of Vista and switched back to XP :)
Check the Add-ins for IE, you should be able to disable it from there, but I'm not sure.
