Recording this certainly needed D112 mic, like in some of your other videos - small udus recorded that way actually sound deeper than this one. All the beauty of this drum is barely audible in the video, simply because Beta 58 picks very little below 100 Hz. I can still hear how deep it is though.
BOSE computer multimedia speakers. I hear and feel it. Earphones probably sound good to. Personally I'm not a fan of udu's I like sharper more punchy sound drums (taiko's and such). But this sounds nice, and you're a pretty good player.
@levijoshuakell actually there is a deep resonant bass sound that your speakers probably don't pick up. its a fairly low frequency. not your katy perry pumping bass though, sorry.
its a nice interest, and its fun to smack objects in rythm.. but to me, its very boring. its about as entertaining as pounding on a table and heel stomping the floor. no disrespect, just an opinion.
@Benjahlove If you have a nice set of studio headphones, those may help bring out the tones of the instrument. I always use a set like that when I listen to videos on youtube because the sound quality is crappy through cheap computer mics.
With my sub on this sounds really good without it though i will admit it sounds a little shoddy

Is it glazed on the inside? Can you stick some water in it, or would that be bad?

Even with decent headphones, the tones and bass are difficult to hear. Definitely a live performance instrument. But it sure looks fun to play.

@Kiddalee Dont know what kind of headphones you have but my 10$ heads gives excellent bass.

@bangomargit On this? With the bass turned to medium?
Kiddalee 3 weeks ago
@Kiddalee Yes. Without any xbass or things like that, I can clearly hear the bass.
