mate is it hard to breed cockatiels im getting a female tomorrow and a new cage set up and i'm makeing a bird boxs to with bark on the flooe and apple sticks as perches my room temp is mile dish please give me some tips if u have any this my sisters youtube account mine is -- Joycieboy1
Females will naturally start laying eggs even if there is no other bird in the cage. The best you can do is just leave them in there until she abandons them because if you take them away she'll just lay more eggs which heightens the risk of her getting an egg stuck inside of her and dying. So just leave them until she gets bored. It's natural for her to lay eggs.
@sweetlilbuny16 If nobody answered yet i know it's been two years but Females can lay eggs without you know... they're called unferilized eggs no babies will pop out of them because they're empty :)
If you WANT the babies to make it, you might want to get her a nest box or a nesting area. It's not likely they'll hatch if they're sitting on a cage floor. Cute birdie!
No, she laid 4 eggs and none hatched. I've added more detail and a web link to the text description area. If she lays more eggs this summer (likely!) I'll let you know.
