  • Thanks for posting this! This is one man I'm still dying to see in concert. And this video shows he is a rare one these days....someone who has amazing talent & is worth every cent of the ticket price. Drummer is great too. Heck the whole band got it going on!

  • thumbs up if facebook brought you here

  • Thanks ever so much sitwi1 for posting this video as I have been searching for this song and the artist for ages. I like it so much. Hope those who see this video enjoy it as much as I do.

  • Sorry Pierce But This Is Streets Ahead Of Your Song

  • pierce > bruce

  • I love tupac and bruce's music

  • horrible, horrible

  • @jorgelinalis How can you call this horrible?????!

  • im 18 and this is quality musicians nowadays just arnt as pure as they used to be. 2pacs version was also legendary too. 68 PEOPLE WERE THE PEOPLE HU CREATED THIS EVIL WORLD AKA GUVERMENT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @heenan93, it's true that at the inception of the United States our federal government sanctioned holding certain black human beings as property. However, as the song mentions, the federal government also later enacted the 1964 Civil Rights Act and created welfare to help poor people. The thrust of this song seems to be about racial prejudice and economic inequality. Individuals and private companies contribute to these realities but the governmental EEOC (and others) fights them.

  • I didn't know Bruce Hornsby watched Community. He got the lyrics wrong though.

  • Listen to that "CRACKER-ASS" introduction by the stupid hoe... She don't talk that way when throwin' down on some fried-chicken with the brothas.

  • This song makes me smile so much. My ex was a firefighter and had always wanted to get down and dirty on top of the fire truck. We saw the movie Back Draft and after that it it was all over, we went late at night and climbed up on top and had the time of our lives until the damn alarm went off and we had to get dressed fast and off the truck. I will forever hold that memory close to my heart. We created our daughter that night, to bad he walked away after 8 years. His Loss.

  • Go Greendale!

  • I knew some people were gonna come here because of the tv show "community"

  • @Kingcassady Who cares.

  • Hey it's the Greendale national anthem!

  • Like sims music its just blooming to my ears

  • 00:12 Is that you Tupac?

  • A test of a great musician is how they sound live compared to how they sound in studio, and the great musicians most of the time sound even better live than studio; this video is proof that indeed, Bruce Hornsby is one great fucking musican.

  • @SteveJawbs damn right

  • @SteveJawbs that's true! I heard him at a Dead concert in the late 1980s sitting in for ? and he was great!

  • @SteveJawbs I agree, but is there really any need for the language? -.-

  • 2Pac - Changes is my favorite song. Just found out it was sampled. Had to check out where it originally came from :P Thanks Bruce ;)

  • Actually better than the studio version.

  • I stopped listening to 2Pac because of his fans.

  • if you weren't around in the 80s to relish songs like this in meditation, you missed greatly. we see and hear rubish nowadays.

    God help us.

  • @SuperEGBON this is a very funny comment! Thanks for trolling so successful, it's a rare thing to see here!

  • Are you crazy? This song was out WAY before Tupac went solo from Digital Underground. In fact, I'm old enough to remember when this song was on the radio by Bruce Hornsby. This song is pretty much what put him on the map. Unfortunately, that's been the bad past of sampling music. A whole generation didn't get original music anymore. So you think things like Bruce Hornsby stole an idea from Tupac. No, Tupac was genius enough to know true talent in Bruce Hornsby! Real music!!!!

  • This guy ripped off Tupac Shakur.

  • @antdigger Thanks for the laugh, your a class A fool.

  • @antdigger What are you talking about?? Tupac Shakur sampled this track. This track was released in 1986! Get you facts right before posting such shit! Idiot!!

  • WHAT IS WRONG WITH SOME OF THESE PEOPLE. I'VE NEVER HEARD SUCH GARBAGE THROWN AROUND. YOU NEED TO WASH OUT YOUR MOUTHS WITH SOAP.

  • @zherm77 haha yes! That guy is loving it

  • Amazing piano!

  • I know, right? You're so polite in calling them 'Youngins". I'm not quite that polite cuz the "whoever you are" crack is just so ignorant, and RUDE to throw at such a LEGEND. How hard is to GOOGLE, you smart-ass, uneducated punks.

  • I know, right? You're so polite in calling them 'Youngins". I'm not quite that polite cuz the "whoever you are" crack is just so ignorant, and RUDE to throw at such a LEGEND. How hard is to GOOGLE, you smart-ass, uneducated punks. See that's how I really feel.

  • These "youngins" kill me. There was life BEFORE you were born. This is Hornsby's song from 1986!!! "Go get a job..!!"

  • Do LOTS of research. Your jaw will drop when you see how many songs wrote.

Anybody remember the Huey Lewis and the News hit 'Jacob's Ladder'?

Bonnie Raitt's 'I Can't Make You Love Me''? There are SO flippiin many.

Yes, this was during the 'Three Nights on the Town' NYC tour, filmed for an awesom DVD and CD. They played 3 different venues in the city, ending with the kick-ass show at Town Hall. If you're a Bruce Hornsby fan, get yourself the DVD. Excellent interviews and amazing music. Enjoy.

  • Holy shit, so many here that don't understand sarcasm. Even in the show they make a joke about how they are going to get sued.

  • thought this was tupac changes at first

  • Hey pwalker32 if Bruce made this song back in 1986 how does Pierce doing it 10 to 15 yrs later make it a rip off. Duh

  • bad Quality

  • Community!

  • 2Pac <3

  • Kyle loved Bruce Hornsby, RIP

  • I like this song over Tupac's "Changes". But I like Chevy Chase's version best of all!

  • @San72390 this song is older than tupac's song "Changes". it was Tupac who used the song for his rap song.

  • cause greendale is the way it goes......

  • hahaha @ guy fistpumping in the back! 1:00

  • I was playing this when me and one of my friends were doing some homework, and she said, "Who re-made this Tupac song?!" I died a little inside..

  • @pwalker32 Dude, you just became my hero.

  • @r10623 He was using satire in his comment.

  • @pwalker32 A Cheesy comment.

  • @pwalker32 lol nice one

  • @pwalker32 I lol'd.

  • @pwalker32 Bruce Hornsby released this song in 1986. Community premiered in 2009. From the planet I'm from, 2009 is bigger than 1986. That means 2009 came after 1986. Also, the video says "vote 2004" in the bottom corner, which is before Community existed. You're the reason Twilight fans (especially those who think Twilight is a rip-off of Harry Potter) don't get shunned by society as much as they should.

  • @ajone523 wow. not sure if srs.

  • @pwalker32 IT WAS HIS SONG THAT HE WROTE>>>>>get educated.

  • @pwalker32 IT WAS HIS SONG THAT HE WROTE>>>>>get educated.

Green Day came a few years after......

  • @kilo54 HAHA! Green Day community college...

  • @pwalker32 : Seriously? This song was first released as "The Way It Is" back in 1986. You need to do a little research before insulting an artist for an ORIGINAL song that was released 25 years ago.

  • @dogsandwoods Haha I'm PRETTY sure he was being sarcastic. Not that it was obvious or anything... :P

  • @doublehanded : That's what I get for youtube-ing at work and for writing responses when my work day has gone to crap. Thank you doublehanded for the reality check.

  • @pwalker32 I love you

  • @pwalker32

Great comment. All the people who didn't understand that it was meant to be sarcastic are streets behind...

  • @pwalker32

    you're the worst

  • @pwalker32 I don't think those guys were before him....

get the correct dates, and I will believe you.

  • @pwalker32 lol, thanks for braving the people who don't understand sarcasm.

  • @pwalker32 He's worse than Billy Joel.

  • @pwalker32 Who watches Community anyways?

  • @vfgjhj People intelligent enough to understand it's humor.

  • @pwalker32

    haha!

Yeah and tell those old people to stop biting songs from Glee, too!

    Tell it like it is!

  • All-time classic, wish I had batteries in my stereo so I could hear it.

  • I just Bruce last month in PA. He is the best man.. Great guy and a fabulous show. If you haven't seen him yet, do it.

  • Total classic.

Does anyone remember when Football Focus / MOTD used to use this during the show?

  • i liked this song before proactiv abused it >:(

  • Dancing in your underwear, taking air conditioner repair so you can... get a job.

    Slop pails and pantyhose!

  • @Raso8k My wife has told me she's leaving me because of my obsession with 80's pop legend Bruce Hornsby.

I said "that's just the way it is, somethings will never change"

  • 2PAC changes

  • from a white song to a great black rap song ;)

  • I bet if tupac was still alive at some awards show he and bruce hornsby wouldve performed this together

  • @mattlowegohard I doubt that very much....effing rap crap = takes NO ( zero) talent to make or perform........that crap should have never left the 8th st. in Los Angeles.......effing crap...always will be......

  • ur here for bruce hornsby, not tupac. get it into your heads, and enjoy

  • cant beat this, would make anyones day better

  • My apologies.....

    I just read the title!

    My mistake

  • I assume this was before 9/11???

How could anyone attack the people of that great city is beyond me!

I'm a Scotsman and have been twice and love you NYC!

Best regards to the people and my thoughts are always with you.

Together we will always prevail against evil!

  • I love 2Pac's Cover of this song!! R.I.P.

  • this is the beat for Asian Rap

  • Changes is probably the greatest rap song of all time, and all tupac did was use the music. All of the lyrics were replaced by tupac except the chorus.

I think Bruce Hornsby himself would agree that Tupacs song is more meaningful, so if you like this version better then you should be proud about it, not hateful.

  • love this song. what else is there to say

  • 2paccc.

  • Im here cause of tupac and im white. God bless

  • @colinbluewood I'm here because of Bruce Hornsby...thanks!!!

  • This nigga knows what he's doing.

  • Tupac's version is better than this!

  • @Verginator18 no way man, fucking hell

  • @henry707 Great Argument! Silly Monkey!!

  • Nah this song is better so far.... Just awesomee :D

  • damn this a good song but it is kind of a sad song, sad enough where i wouldnt really dance to it with a smile thats just the way it is

  • Words from god right here <3

  • Fuck it! 2Pac just copied everything from this song: Music, beats and why the heck is his version more famous anyway? He did nothing! Damn! This world is so unfair!

  • @zecxixo dude Tupac Shakur changed the world with Changes, so stop hating one of the greatest rappers who ever lived.

  • @Tallu309 I'm not a hater of Tupac! Vice vercsa I'm a big fan of him.... (you can check my channel), but now I'm just saying the truth! It's way unfair that 2pac's version is more famous!

  • @zecxixo ok so lemme get this straight.. you like tupac but you hate how he so called "steals the beat" well you know after he died someone remixed changes to sounds how the one you and i hear.

  • damn! Why these rappers always ruin masterpiece songs?

  • A fucking god...

  • iam heree cuz i loves this song ! not cuz of some gay crap

  • i'm here because i love thi song.

  • Comment removed

  • no lie. I'm here 'cause of Tupac, no doubt both versions are beautiful : if you respect Bruce Hornsby or/and Tupac you wouldn't hate on either version.

Bruce Hornsby gave Tupac permission to use the instrumental and lyrics, so if Bruce hating.. tell me why are you?

Tupac wouldn't want you to compare, he just wanted to send a message to the world and if he was inspired to use someones' instrumental for whatever reason then RESPECT it.

  • don't matter if it's a big stadium or a pub... his drums sounds good!!! Sonny Emory is one of my favorites!!!

  • Can' believe anyone would think Tupac's version is better. Bruce Hornsby makes this track a masterpiece where Tupac's version makes it a song!

  • very good!

  • 2:50 Is that a hint of Snoopy I hear going on. =)

  • Tupac is great but come on.......no way he makes this song better. Bruuuuuuuuce!!!

  • i like Tupac's version better but this one is still good

  • Tupac version is best!!!

  • Only king like Tupac could use and manage with this masterpiece and make it even greater masterpiece!!!

  • "wake up in the morning and I ask myself, is life worth living should I blast myself".

  • Fuck you guys man, Pierce Hawthorne is way better

  • I LOVE THIS SONG ! IMMORTAL!

  • Hmm 2pac? xD

  • twopac is a thief. karma gotcha bitch!

  • @davolasrox I hope thats a joke or something...Bruce Hornsby gave Tupac permission to sample his work, you honestly think anyone could have been able to take an entire song and use it without copyright lawsuits. Show some respect and learn about what your talking about before you post stupid shit.

  • ohh yeah tupac i get it.... ok u dont have to mark this as spam ive done it already

    both great artists respect

  • I AM THE GUY with the Spanish sign!!! AWESOMEEEEEEEE
