  • Very Glam

  • Demons 2 brought me here...

  • @CockasaurusErectus There was once a minor who went in their hotel room or was it stage room, they were kinda scared of it... [getting sued] at least nothing happened except for the security dragging the teenager out.

  • Ahhh...love these beautiful brothers & their music & style! I'd been looking for this song for a long time...but i had the lyrics totally wrong...i thought they were saying "little red ponies never hurt anyone"..lol..but i was pretty young when this song came out & no one is perfect! ;-) I hate getting lyrics wrong...it makes me feel so stupid...especially when i've had them wrong for 20+ years!!! Shame on me!!!

  • @txussoldier dude -- dont kid yourself -- these guys got all the hot babes in the 80's

  • @txussoldier well thats because the glam metal scene took over and many other genres started to pass over the fad

  • great song!!! q wena banda!!!! =]

  • Perfect blend between "Simple Minds" and "The Cult" !

  • this song featuring in the movie "demons 2" by lamberto bava !

  • it was good stuff and this is when and with who it ended,nw was out and you can even feel the grunge moving in.These dudes look as nasty as the spin me round record guy,no these guys are vampires, real ones!

  • One of my all time fave bands , awesome!

  • Seen this band in local Providence club one of the most played

LP of that year the songs very much like cure, smiths, siouxsie

Echo and bunny men. Love those years and miss them....

  • Live versions don't mean anything. I completely respect your opinions. I don't even know which one is Michael..... not that kind of fan. Is he the guy with the Strat? I'm just chiming in on how I thought they recorded this song. I'm probably wrong anyway.

  • me gusta mucho esta cancion...

  • The Jezebels are sublime.

  • You can tell the difference in timbre between Michael and Jay's voices if you listen. Michael's seems to my ears to have a rougher edge and Jay tends to be more trebly. I like them both. This is Michael singing lead, no doubt. That's Jay on the prechorus, just like it looks. I saw them live enough times to know.

  • Codder- Relax. I said I liked these guys. I just meant I don't hear a harmony vocal track on this, and I think the vocal was done by only one of them....my guess is the guy with the strat. He just seems to act like he's done it a few dozen times. No offense

  • No offence taken, but I'm still confused by your comment. Even if you don't hear a harmony vocal, why would you jump to the conclusion that the guy doing lead vocals in the video isn't the singer? Like most fans, I think Jay is the superior talent too, but I still get annoyed by the needless pot shots at Michael. Check out PaulaSee's post. She knows what she's talking about.

  • Well, I think that music was and is simply great.

  • I like these guys. Two guitars with Fender Strat, and Les Paul. Bass has a Precision. They look a little weird, but who didn't back then. Get the impression the guy with the strat is doing the vocal track and this video has sombody lip synching. Don't know why....the red haired guy just looks like he's the only one serious about this thing.

  • Why would you get the 'impression that the guy with the strat is doing the vocal'? It's a video - everyone lip synchs! I wish people would just enjoy these vids and songs and stop slagging off one or the other twin.

  • Michael is just lip syncing to Jay's vocals and lyrics. Jay forever!

  • Michael was the real talent and Jay was just a wart on his ass. If Jay had any balls he would not go out and play to 10 people and call himself GLJ.

  • Comment removed

  • I remember these guys hit it big on MTV for a week or so back in the 80s. Looking at them know I think they are sort of unappreciated. I always liked this tune.

  • Turns out Jay pretty much sang all of them, Michael is just lip syncing

    ( I <3 Gene Loves Jezebel )

  • Not true. You can tell the difference in their voices. Jay's voice was always FAR superior. And always will be. It's hard for me to even watch the old stuff with Michael (aka Chargrave, or Lord Everest). He will forever walk in Jay's shadow.

  • 'tis true. though I've heard that on Suspicion Michael was lip-syncing on the video. I'm not sure, I have my doubts - but whenever I listen to it I wonder if it is that way.

  • They look like Sandra Bernhardt, LOL!

  • I always liked Michael's singing on Sweetest Thing and Wait and See but thought Jay should've sang this one. Jay would've sounded better on Beyond Doubt too, and Michael would've sounded good singing Maid of Sker and White Horse.

  • tenian los mejores peinados,el cabello con reflejos rosados le quedaba increible!

  • man those dudes were pretty!

  • Um, not really. They always looked much better in their videos and album covers than they actually did in person. Not so pretty in person.

I met them when they were on tour with Flesh for Lulu (87)and I have to say they were quite conceited. Michael came up to me and asked, "So have you ever met a super star before?" and Jay asked, "What is the sex age in FL?" Turned me off on GLJ for a very long time.

Nick from Flesh for Lulu was very down to earth though.

  • i have to disagree w/ xxsirensongxx i liked jay more than michael this is why it ended so fast both are great one of the best albums ever made what made this great was them both together

  • gene loves jezebel rocks the 80's. one of my fave.

  • Nice video. Michael was definitely more charismatic than Jay.

  • After all these years, and all that has happened--this one is hard to watch. I MUCH prefer Jay's vocals on everything.

  • I love gene loves jezebel.

  • "The house of dolls" is a wicked album....one of their best

  • @lastmatureman you can say that again ;)

  • Great band ! I met them in Augusta, GA in 93. Totally underrated band !

  • they are not as talented without each other mike an angry man bitch and jay a artist nothing would have happened without js pushing such a shame remember mike has never had any sucsess outside the name brand and yet j has met them in 1986 good guys to bad they could not get along

  • Turn that bogus statement around. Jay pushed his brother out and fell flat on his face. Jay pushing? He's a bum, always has been and always will be.

  • Bahahahahaha!

  • Shut up Michael Aston, lead singer of the FAKE Gene Loves Jezebel. Jay's GLJ forever!

  • A little bit of heartache never hurt anyone...

  • Mid 80's...

  • what year is this? is it late 80s or early 90s??

  • It was early 1986

  • i used to love this song!! man! they were underrated...

  • The bridge between New Wave and Alternative -- an awesome, underrated band ... good stuff!

  • new wave rocks!!! or, new wave waves!!! (whatever). anyway, thanks for posting! =)

  • OMG! thanks for posting this! I wore out the tape I played it so much in the 80's

  • wow! thanks for posting!!!

  • I had a huge crush on Jay too!

didn't Michael leave to act and then he came back and now Jay is solo? I dunno - I got confused after a while!

  • Saw them live back in 87 and they were a great band back then. I had the HUGEST crush on Jay. *sighs*

  • I like Jay, too. Too bad the twins had a kind of rift or somethng. If you type in 'Jay Aston' you'll see what he's been doing. Both brothers are talented, eh.

  • quality WXB 102

  • quality rock

  • l-o-v-e this song!

  • Oh my God , beautiful song , they look so stunning , great band

  • I'll never understand why they didn't make a vid for bruises- one of their best songs. I liked their old abstract goth image and sound more but this song's pretty good.

  • I've been searching for the forever, thank you.

  • Neat Video, strange setting...but I have to say that Jay's eyes and close-up shots are extremely sexy and haunting. Great song, love the lyrics, classic GLJ, LOVE IT!

  • Cocaine is a hell of a drug.

  • rodrigo ,esta banda nos trae muchos recuerdos, casi finalizando los 80's. Te quiero hermano.

  • Where the F was this filmed?

  • I believe it was filmed in a disused church

  • This was filmed at Whiteleys department store in London. =)

  • I love GLJ. In the 80's, they played at UNLV a lot and I never missed a show. They were amazing!
