  • If you want a very good lock that is impossible to bump or pick, the Abloy Protec is a good choice. So far, nobody has successfully bumped or picked a Protec.

  • could somebody please fuck this twelve years old girl in the ass so that she won't become a thief but a whore at least

  • To all your doubters, this is legit. Read OPEN IN THIRTY SECONDS: Cracking One of the Most Secure Locks in America. These guys came up with several ways to get past Medeco locks and Medeco was not listening to them, saying its impossible etc, so they took this girl to DEFCON and let her bump it to try and get their attention. One of the guys that wrote the book can pick them in under 30 seconds (thus the title of the book).

  • The angles have nothing to do with the locks being difficult to pick except that they will be difficult to get the pick on the angled pins which by the way sit inside the keyway.

Medecos are not impossibel to pick nor are they impossible to bump.

    Difficult but not impossible.

  • There is no way the sidebar is in that lock.

  • I'm not worried.

So what if a 12 year-old girl can pick a Medeco lock?

Your typical home invasion robber is not a 12 year-old girl. It's a young minority male.

    Everybody knows that.

    So I'm sleeping soundly.

When the 12 year-old girls start breaking

into houses, I'll pay more attention.

  • I discussed this video with a few well seasoned locksmiths. All of them said that the video is likely BS. Their thought was that the lock was set up with all normal pins, no angle pins. If that was the case it would make it easy to bump. The reason Medeco locks are extremely difficult to pick or bump is because they use angle cuts on the pins and keys. Even if you get the pins at the right height, they still need to be twisted to the right angle.

  • Okay, so what locks can't be readily picked or bumped by a 12 year old girl? Its hard to find independent reviews from the perspective of what's more or less secure. Perhaps nothing is perfectly secure, but its hard to independently evaluate the relative pros & cons of Medeco vs. Schlage Primus, etc.

  • heres the problem, im an aprentice locksmith in colorado, i am learning from 10 different smiths that have been doing this for over 30 years. they all say that this is bull crap and that anyone who can pick a medeco high security lock, automaticaly wins the 1 million dollar cash prize that medeco put out 10 years ago. and no one has claimed it. so thats the problem, if is so easy, why hasnt anyone claimed the million dollars? good question.

  • @ACSSinstructor Here's the problem. I can't find that Medeco prize anywhere.

  • @ACSSinstructor Who can "pick" it? Would have to read the fine print -- if the prize is limited to a specific vulnerability type, there's your answer right there.

  • I think this was staged. This girl is in his other videos.

  • where did you get a bump key for a medeco lock?

  • Well since these medeco locks are all so easily bypassed, what do you all think of BEST SFIC's? I use them since I was lucky and able to get them at like 1/3 the cost of a shitty joke qwikset lock setup. I am already aware that they can be bumped. Just overall, what do you all think of them?

  • Total Bullshit if the chick in this video or any video on picking an m3 Lock or bumping is real why dont you go to medeco and claim your ten thousand dollar prize oh thats right its bullshit you cant pick or bump a medeco M3 thanks for reading

  • Well since Medeco refuses to speak to the man with her in the video (lookup Marc Weber Tobias) it's a safe bet that they won't actually pay that money to anyone.

  • Why don't you just go to defcon and learn to pick medecos yourself? Bring your own if you don't believe it. Seriously I don't understand why locksmiths are such ignorant dicks on this subject. Your locksmith code of ethics is bullshit and is making us all less safe.

Do you have a link for where I can claim my prize from medeco?

  • Medeco can be beaten. But try bumping my Abloy deadbolt.

  • Nice show the world how to do it. Media great place for thieves to learn all the new tricks.

  • And also a great place for concerned consumers to learn what NOT to buy to rely upon securing their families and their wealth. Medeco locks cost a lot of money, and unfortunately for all their sophisticated design, there are less expensive products which are harder to bypass than this. Sure, a thief can learn techniques on youtube, but consumers can also learn what NOT to purchase, or what else to purchase in addition to a faulty product to strengthen security measures.

  • @m4tuna

Thieves already know the tricks. Would you rather be an uniformed consumer?

  • @BROSWarFactory

Yes almost all locks can be picked or jimmied some how. BUT if U SHOW me how to do something then I MIGHT BE TEMPTED to try it myself somewhere. Same as CRACK I bet I look hard enough somewhere I can find a way to make it buy using the MEDIA . WE are not born as thieves. Im learning so much on Youtube I might just quit my job and break in every business in America. HAHA

  • LIAR! You must be working for Medeco.

  • Medeco locks are garbage. I've opened few by using bumping method.

  • @freakman420: Do you even know who the guy is? That's Tobias. Look it up.

  • so which is the best lock?!

  • A lock is just a small portion of security. If you have the best lock in the world I'll just break a window to get in.

  • Id love for you to meet my ar 15 one day.

  • You obviously have no clue what you are talking about... Medeco are easy to bump and this vid. is completely legit... I have seen this done with locks right out of the package... try it make one do it to your front door..... Marc is the man!!! this guy knows his stuff!!!! he wrote the locking picking "bible"

  • Any method of manipulating a lock is a valid method... pin-by-pin picking, raking, bumping, drilling, crow bar... Physical security companies like Medeco are notoriously bad at actually fixing vulnerabilities in their products. Instead they just pretend they don't exist.

  • I do agree about bumping being silly and easy. However, this notion about locksmiths being something special above "amateurs"; I do not. The fact is that pretty much all of the current high-security lock attacks are coming from 2 groups these days: hobbyists and govt. Your industry is driven by money, not passion or a larger goal.

I have hung out and had long conversations with Marc. His attack requires that the lockie follow official Medeco codebooks, but it is legit and so is this video.

  • It's not bs at all. The girl takes dance class from my girlfriend. It's real.

  • negative, google "minimum movement method"

  • Old news. Perhaps, also, a great illusion by a locksmith, since my locksmith changed out my locks about 2 years ago due to the issue.

  • The sad truth is that its not bullshit at all.

  • Comment removed

  • Well the guy in the video with her is Marc Weber Tobias. One of the most famous locksmiths and security professionals in this country. He's attempted to speak with Medeco about this many times, but they won't even return his calls. He didn't even want the $10,000. He just wanted them to stop lying to people.

  • I bought the man's book! Great reading!

  • where can i get a medeco bump key set like you have

  • omg.. Who cares.. Ano one who knows how to pick up a hammer can bump a lock....!!!11 Slimpickingsoooo daughter is 6 and she can do it....

  • can your daughter bump a medeco m3? i doubt it

  • That's the point. Vendors still claim that this shit is unpickable

  • a no mames es cabrona la chava presentenla

  • Tobias already obviously made a bump key with the correct left/right/center cuts on the key. Without knowing the key code this wouldnt work.

  • i call liers....vids to blury to see for 100% which medeco generation it is....but if whoever keyed that up did it right its impossible...period... your bump key would HAVE to have the proper angles cause the pins CANT SPIN they can turn so much and then you have for and aft cuts plus the slider...itd also be illegal to make a bump key

  • Tobias never mentions if the angles are specific. He never says "this bump key spins the pins and can open any Medeco". He likely decodes the angles (yes it can be done; I have made a tool and I know John Falle sells one) and offset (fore/aft) and cuts a bump key using that information. There is nothing illegal about cutting the key. It is illegal to manufacture the blank for sale.

  • actually it would be illegal due to all the patents and contracts (which are legally binding) making a bump key would be illegal. and if you decode the angels and then figure out the depts why not just cut the freaking key? you still waste a ton of time... medeco never claims you can't by pass them but that you require alot more time than normal...

  • The contract only make the blanks harder to get ahold of and the Biaxial patent ran out in '05 so all of those blanks are no longer protected. Also the patents only protect against other companies selling the blanks. Decoding the angles is much easier than decoding the depths and doesn't really take that long. I don't care what Medeco claims, you say "liers"; I say "not liers, you just misunderstand"

  • Even if this is an original Medeco, it still demonstrates the problem. Biaxial and m3 really didn't add much security over the original Medeco design.

Also, you mention the slider from the m3; this not an m3. This is a Biaxial and does not employ a slider. Also your argument about the pins not being able to spin because "they can turn so much" is flawed. The range of angles that the pins are restricted to happens to contain the correct angle.

  • how do they not add security? and its not flawed since the cuts are left or right we will say....how could a key cut to the left spin it right? and how can you tell which medeco that is?

  • I should probably clarify: biaxial and m3 did not add security against picking. Who said anything about cutting a key to the left spinning it right? There is a longer version of this video in which Tobias says it is Biaxial. I was also present at Defcon during his talk about this.

  • So just how do I make a bump key?

I hear you half to take the key down to a certain level for the lowest share.

Also I am under the illusion that bumping this lock may get it on share but you still half to make a couple of turns on the pins to get the legs in to suck up the side bar.

Also I understand that each key has a differnt guid from lock shop to lock shop so you would not be able to make a universale key and go around banging locks.

  • you actually make 11 universal keys, and yes, you can go around bumping ever lock.

  • dream on

  • hey lock5900... you got your shit wrong man. I have seen a few of your comments.. and your the one who actually dont know what there talking about.

  • and actually no your WRONG

there is an unknown number of keys...period...

i know that there is OVER 30 DIFFERENT machines that make DIFFERENT keys for the m3 key way and each one works a different slider which is like a side bar

  • Awesome, and nothing more

  • no way

  • Awesome.

  • I read from other site....is not Bixial...it is M3!

  • uh medeco m3 is considered biaxel actually....they keys have their biaxel logo...

  • Well, the other site is wrong, this a 6-pin Medeco Biaxial. Yes, the m3 uses biaxial pins (fore/aft offset), but this is not an m3. It doesn't really matter anyway. Tobias already showed how easy it is to bypass the slider (I've verified this as well).

  • wow, thats cool, well done!!

my videos show them picked in a matter of seconds but this video is just the best.

  • Next year at Defcon: how to crack safes with a pencil and bubble gum.
