eh.. it obviously wont teach you anything about beat matching or record mixing,.. but as far as the stuff below i mentioned, it will help. wrist action and finger control/practice goes a long way! definitely translates more than gh does to guitars anyways.

take it off Easy or Medium... same with rockband or GH. Cakewalk patsy stuff till you move up..to Hard/Expert. Anyone that says the upper tracks on Hard, or nearly any song on Expert is easy is a liar.

ive dj'd for years.. and while musically speaking i agree with you. the beats, etc,... are already mixed. however, the controller itself and the things you have to do does translate pretty well to real djing. crossfader control is one of the more obnoxious things to learn when pickin up djing, as is basic record control and movement... both of which are used heavily and accurately in the game. the controller is def. good practice (not to mention a s__t load of fun!).

I started with guitar hero and ended up as a keyboardist (I know, weird, but there is no KEYBOARD hero so...:D there´s an idea!), trust me, it´s much more satisfying to play a real instrument, altho I still like the video game :D Make the magic happen!!!
