Ubuntu is way more reliable than Windows XP. Even though windows XP is pretty sweet. Windows Vista = FAIL. so I don't even have to compare it to Ubuntu.

Windows 7 is the only one that is actually head to head with Ubuntu 9.10, lets see when 10.04 comes out..

Actually no. The phones are tagged with a visual "fingerprint" - an id tag if you will (its a black background with some white dots in a pattern) that allow the cameras in the device to easily identify each phone as its placed on the device.
