  • Is this a B/C accordion?

  • @PipersGrip C/C#

  • @glubux Thanks!

  • ¡Bella melodia e interpretación!. Este vals, cantada por Tapio Rautavaara es la version que parte corazones y te deja embrujado. Gracias por compartir este video.

  • Am I imagining it, or is he playing that reel on the scale of F?? What settings does he have on his accordion?!

  • who the hell disliked this video?!!! u need to get hearing-aids and glasses........Top Class Accordian Skills! 5 star.

  • a beautiful version of a Finnish folk song emma

  • Jazzy folk. Great sound. These two blend well together.

  • Love the tunes man, How'd you guys overdub the studio recording onto the video? way cool man... I noticed the reverb on the accordion really sounds good....

  • fantastic playing i love ur style

  • Great video. the guitar player in this video is mike galvin. He designed a system so he could play the bass lines along with the chords. it's all live. one of the best guitar players i've ever heard

  • @mrmollymusic, Any idea how he does it? Really intriguing. Doesn't sound like bass pedals. Maybe an octave pedal for the low string?

  • @mrmollymusic Please can you explain what you mean by this - is it a tuning thing or a rhythm thing? Or am I on the wrong track altogether? Great guitar work - I'm jealous!

  • I love it!!! congratz!! xD

  • where's the electric bass comin from in the secind tune? its too low to be the guitar

  • I noticed that as well. It has probably been added after the video was made to make the sound more full.

The bass is included in the first tune as well btw.

  • @abraxas123 dont think that the bass is added, its from the accordion.. u know u have a side of bottoms with bass to ;)

  • @FenrerGG

I am sure that the bass is from a string instrument (electric bass or upright bass) : )

The bass buttons from the accordion is very different sounding, and Damien doesn't use them very much in this vid (watch his left hand).

  • Amazing playing indeed! Bravo!

And this dry C/C# Bertrand Gaillard box sounds perfect!

  • amazing!

  • Wow! Great playing!

  • great playing indeed.

Jessicafatty should shave her mustache off as well.

  • The best box player I have ever heard, and I have heard a lot!

  • loks like a goat!oly jokin lol

  • I rate this recording up there with Dermot Byrne's Tico Tico from his album.

For me personally it's as good as it gets.

I had a go on his Bertrand Galliard accordion once in London, soon after he bought it, and it is an amazing instrument. Lovely tone (as you can hear), and plays like lightning!

Mind you Damien makes any box sound great!

  • Definately a brilliant accordion player! Lovely sounds! ♫♪♫ ♫♪♫

  • A shame to muck it up with the guitar, even tough that was well played. Why not add a drum kit and an orchestral violin section?

  • Traditionally played a lot slower... at least in the back woods of Finland where I grew up! Anyhow, this is a cool version! Enjoyed it!

  • Wow... this might sound primitive, but Damien is such a hottie... Do you think he tutors? ;-)

But seriously - they play magnificient :-) Its on repeat on my screen :-)

  • Fucking awesome. This lad is the best box player I've ever heard, bar none.

  • I think its a sweedish waltz....or at least i played it one night and there were a few sweedish musicians there who told me that...

  • By the way the first waltz is called "Emmas waltz" and I think of finish origin, it's very popular among accordionists in scandinavia

  • Beautiful!
