The F units, or covered wagons, are very much classic passenger locos. Santa Fe passenger colors are definitely the most American scheme. You really upped the anti by adding dome cars. The train looks very much at home on your layout.

Very nice, Jules. Your garden layout is super! As a yank I can tell you that the salesman was right to suggest the Santa Fe set. I had that set with dad as a child and it was one of Lionel's most popular sets back then. I love your UK trains and the station platform looks super. Cheers,Peter
@strafrag1 Cheers for your comments. For the record the F3A is an Athearn Genesis superdetailed model, Running behind it is an ancient Athearn F7B dummy unit which I picked up off "fleaBay" for about £7.
@strafrag1 The line is operational all year round even on cold winter days so it doesn't get covered as such. I have covers which go over the top of the stations but that is to keep my cats from sitting on the stations and flattening all the detail!
@MrFlix76 It worked out at no more than about £120 for the whole train! Three of the coaches (the ones with lights) I actually bought on eBay when i returned home to make up a decent length train.
Do you have any problems with expansion and contrcting of the track in the heat/cold at all? waiting for your autumn vid' will you be doing one?

@metadyneman Sorry, I did know that wasn't a Lionel (no third rail). Do you cover everything up in winter? My cats would love it!

Looks like you have a lot of EMUs on your Garden railway and I like that you have one American train running just something a bit different.
