I would like to say to people from North Korea only need to be persistent and you will eventually see the light at the end of the road. I speak as a man of 22 who studie and work like all other people in Croatia, which nobody harassed and who lives a comfortable life with his family in Croatia. but me and my family 20 years ago we had the same problems, we were refugees from Bosnia. we had no where to live and we were hungry during the war in Bosnia. Today my homeland is Croatia, not Bosnia.

China is not Mongolia or Thailand and has it's own very serious problems. It is a country that constantly debilitated by it's own huge population and the threat of instability. Amnesty is out of the question for refugees. Even helping is as well. Like it or not, but the situation in NK is such that refugees will stay in China. If China play's a helping hand, it will flooded by refugees. On top of that there's the politics to consider. If only it was as simple as showing compassion!!!

I am really heart-broken about all this happening and I am so happy that people as fortunate as us can go to school and have a good life while these children suffer for food! This usually makes me depressed and hope one day that Korea could reunite and become a better place and so becomes the rest of the world.

The women with the son that has cerebral palsy obviously is pretty well educated where she could acquire a Mandarin with slight accent and have the wiles to work the Chinese system. Unfortunately the great majority of the Koreans crossing into China are poor starving farmers with little to no skills and thus do not have the wits or capability to try to "hide" into the Chinese system and thus are the ones that tend to get caught.

Sadly, where there is a need for money for sexual acts. This is a very popular method of making money in many parts of Russia as well, in places where rural life has no future and people live on potatoes. China has the many of the same effects with different problems but same end result sadly.

@khansathamir North Koreans are Brainwashed and Told that The Outside world is horrible, they are brainwashed by the education system while growing up. N. Korea doesn't want them to leave and find out everything they were told were lies. North Koreans don't know how much freedom we have or that it exist, they flee the country for food and other reasons such as the mother did.

It's heartbreaking seeing the mom and her son had to be separated from each other. I hope by now they have reunited in SK. Poor boy will get real hurt if he ever got caught and sent back to NK.

@HotacidVN not hurt. killed. that is the problem... the whole world, including the chinese government is aware that ANY North Korean escapees sent back to North Korea will be executed, yet china is the ONLY COUNTRY that sends them back... I know chinese government have their complicated political reason, but only if somehow they can HELP those escapees to SAFELY come to South Korea, many life would be saved.. it is just heart breaking mother and son have to be seperated because of the law...
