your right bubka and tarasov had different looking jumps... tarasov was tall so thats why his jump looked a little smoother because he had a monster reach where as bubka was shorter but far more powerful so it doesnt look as smooth as tarasovs jump but is still just as correct according to his body style
I would actually agree with you, but the real question is who is right bubka and tarasov had very different styles of the vault well it seems tarasovs smooth take off looks more effective many argue/believe that a "free take off" such as bubkas is more effective also the fact that his lack of control was due to the size of poles he was using sometime causing him to go crooked. Bubka= best vaulter in the world. Tarasov = best technician???
I'd say he could well be the best person in the world at making pole vault look easy.
He's so damn smooth, unlike bubka walker and most everyone these days his top arm is barely jarred as he takes off and he just swings up and pops off the end of it... i don't know much but in my opinion... dare i say it.... tarasov is technically better than bubka? :O that's the impression i get from this jump anyway...
that's what happened?? he broke his foot?? damn, cause he went 6.05 and i saw him clear 5.97 and coulda easily cleared 6.10. shame, he was great. he never picked it back up after his foot healed??

NO SHOT! walker takes off, a foot under, and tucks and shoots. Tarasov is WAY better than walker
