It's when you've listened to those awful cheesy versions from Helen Reddy and others - that you realise how brilliant and distinctive Cilla Black's version is. I always thought her voice could shatter a Liverpudlian milk bottle but it works beautifully here. Sweeping score with edge and emotional power.
