@rautePLOED My secret, but all of that is true. It doesn't ruin the episode or anything since that scene is only but a few minutes long and that is it. It has very little relation to the rest of the episode. Overall the first episode is very good, the new "main killer" of the season seem pretty crazy.

@rautePLOED I actually liked 5 although I was still bummed that the producers killed off Rita. Its hard to compare the others toward season 6 since at the moment we don't know if Dexter will get a close friend as he did in 3/5 or if he will be a loner like 1/2/4. It is also unknown how much Dexter will connect to the new killer in terms of going against them.

He already said in the first episode that the new killer is experienced and not an amateur. Time will tell!

Loved this part as I wasn't expecting it. The whole Season 6 opener is really good actually, certainly a lot better than the constant doom and gloom with a side order of bad storytelling that was Season 5. With any luck we can get through the whole season without a single mention of Julia bloody Stiles.
