  • great video! I checked out your website and i have a little suggestion, maybe you could specifically list the running time of each of your dvds? Thanks!

  • cool info for the beginner outdoorsman but i do have to say it is soooooooooooooo boring.last one i watch from you strictly because of that...""wildernessoutfitters"" channel is awesome though truthfully i accidently stumbled on this vid because i mistook it for the other channel while i was browsing...Have fun makin your vids though and trying"" to teach others!

  • the old magic stick fishing lol first fishing rig i ever used i was 5 years lol

  • haha! My Irish uncle fishes the same way when our family is up in Maine(USA). He laughs at me using my modern rod-reel. But thanks to him and guys like you keeping the old traditions alive I have made a few hooks from deer antler over the winter and am making my own fishing pole out of a large wild rose shoot. I am not sure what to use for natural line yet so I will just use twine for now!

    Nice video m8! cheers!

  • Ads should go get f**ked. I hate advertisements. Just let me watch the video in peace without harrassment will ya?!?!?!

  • get a rod. makes it a lot easier

  • seems that 'billy' can or whatever you called it earlier, seemed to upgrade itself..it went from a soup can with a coat-hanger handle...to a very shiny, polished professional looking little cofee/tea cup. its just an observation. paid close attention to everything you taught. which is why i noticed it. just wondering, ABSOLUTELY no disrespect intended. Can you shed some info as to what im talking about. really good stuff your showing!

  • @bilvis48 Its a good observation my friend but the two clips you are talking about ,are taken from two different films, both on bushcraft but about different ways to cook using completely different tools...

  • I'd never seen someone run the line through the Y at the end of a stick before. Nice vid. I'll check out the website. I'm new to youtube.com I've been studying bushcraft pretty much my whole life. I grew up outdoors. I'm blessed to live in the US where I can hunt and fish on millions of square kilometers of State and Federal lands. A quite large National Forest is less than a half hour drive from my urban home. Thanks for your simply made but informative videos.

  • in canada you just need a fishing lisence in canada we use to do that as kid

(no lisens even never caught anyting

  • Bushcraft vs. wild

  • Land of the free has more licensing requirements then should be...

  • You have great videos. Thanks for teaching me.

  • where abouts in the u.k is this mate . and great videos

  • Im sorry, but whats a rod licence?

  • I thought mama mirabells home movies was starting LOL

  • I hear shooting in the background!

  • I like this video and any type of fishing and I have started carrying a cork with a hook wrapped by fishing line with me in my overnight bag. A rod is always in the trunk ready to go.

No fishing license in Texas? Just go to a state park. You will pay a small entry fee but the fishing in a state park is free and many will loan tackle.

  • poor earthworm

  • Poor worm ANIMAL ABUSE!! lol

  • pretty cool :)

  • These videos are great, learn alot in only minutes.

  • @superfredc you fucking troll you couldn't get your fat ass out of your house and away from your computer long enough to go fishing or to any type of bushcraft let alone know what it means to do bushcraft so go talk you shit else where

  • nice joob

  • what that quote "give a man a fish he eays for the day, teach a man to fish he eats for a lifetime" nice vid

  • back to basics and all this rubbish i am reading here.you lot dont seem to grasp, the fishing line was made in a factory he didnt make it out of bamboo or something..survival,bushcraft.ha ha.whatever!

  • excellent back to basics we all should do this now and again, to get a grip with nature we all need it. brill

  • If you can get a decent length of stick or bamboo, you can put eyeholes in it and make a proper rod if ye like. Make a little bobber out of a bit of wood...carve it...get creative with it. Lots of ways! :D The way I see it, if you're gonna be a woodsman, or survive, better at least make it fun as possible! haha

  • permission to fish the fish god gave us... to fish.... fishy huh? that we cant fish our fish by fishing..

  • why do you have to have lisence to fish, that is really strange to me as i live in Norway?

  • @Roboflux Du bør nok lese dette.. (You probably should read this..)

    miljostatus . no / Tema / Friluftsliv/ Fiske

  • @kentalex Ok, thanks but we does not have lisence here in Norway just fishing cards, thats not what he tells of in the video..or have i gotten it wrong?

  • @Roboflux As I see it, when buying a "fishing card", you buy a temporarely lisence to that river or lake. So that the owner of the land gets a piece of the pai, and for goverment owned land it's about letting them have control over the trout/salmon population. I'm not entirely sure, my only point was, that not even in norway can we go fishing in whatever freshwater we want without a permit.

  • @kentalex Ok, know what you mean, its only that i have never payed for any lisence but only for a fishing card so i thaught it was strange that you have to have a lisence too =)

  • when will have this stuff when ur lost in woods use thorns and wooden cordage

  • yer in your country in australa you can fish pretty much anywhere!

  • Most of these guys show you what to do if you already have a mono fishing line and a steel hook. Just once, I want someone to demonstrate going out into the woods with just a pocket knife and make a workable fishing outfit from only natural materials. Can it be done with minimal effort? Anyone know of any videos out there that show this?

  • i know hooks can be made from bone and small sticks sharpened on both ends. As far as line goes that fine of cordage would be hard to make strong i think. Any place someone else has fished there likely to be line and tackle hung up somewhere probably.

  • I got on a hike by a bad storm that came out of nowhere. It took the searchers 3 days to find me. I made a shelter first, fire second, and then caught fish to survive. They didnt give me a ticket or nothing, for fish without a license. They just wanted to know what kind of fish that I ate and how much. Then praised me for using my knowledge and skills to survive a 3 day rainstorm. The park ranger had me show him how to build a fire in the rain, and sustain it.

  • This is just silly. If you have the line and the hook and the bait then...??????? Doh!!

  • why doesnt he just buy a fishing rod

  • cause he wants to show you how to catch a fish when no fishing rods are available

  • If you're in a survival situation the game warden should understand. If not...whatever country you're in needs a new set of officials. Unless of course that country is a socialist country, in that case the people should be accustomed to being taken care of like children.

  • @wsrpotg if u see the game warden you're saved

  • like trafic cops, game wardens do not care about any problims you have, if you get caught speeding you'll get a ticket, get caught fishing in closed waters - same story, but they take your fishing gear

  • If I was in a survival situation and a game warden came to check for my license, I'd be saved now wouldn't I?

  • if there was a game warden there you wouldent be in much of a "survival" situation would you

  • lol but u would be arrested XD!!!

  • if you are actually in a survival situation and have not already learned how to catch fish you'll starve to death... you dont need the licence to survive but you need the licence to learn the art

  • I tried something like this due to boredom on a slow fishing day and managed to catch a fairly big carp using sweetcorn.

  • i tried this before out of boredome. i took some spair line in my tackle box and put on just a hook and a little worm. i caught a perch lol:D then i threw it back. good times..

  • Hey, if you put your socks into the river, all the fishes die and you just have to get them from the watersurface. =)

  • I'm very interested in the billy can you show at the end of this video and in other videos. I have looked for one similar without success here in the US and have looked at your site. You do not sell them either. Any suggestions?

  • ever try the soda pop can method? you wind your line around an old soda pop can, throw your bait out in the water and pay out the line by uncoiling it off of the can

  • Freshwater fishing requires a freshwater license. Approx 40$ in Canada. Saltwater fishing requires a separate license and costs 24$.

If caught fishing without a license in Canada, the fisheries can seize your car and your boat, including all the contents on your person, and fine you 1000$ for every fish or shellfish in your possession.

  • @Amerika77 fuggin Nazi's. This is why you should always be very careful never to get caught!

  • i sure as hell wouldnt RON

  • if i can afford a liscence i can afford a real fishing rod and if was hobo i'd be happy to spend some jail time for bed and hot food better then pigeons and roddents lol

  • Theres a clever boy, thanks for your very clever input and sharing your knowlege with us all.

  • @gawletap thats a nice fish!

  • @gawletap u have to have a lisence enven if ur suirviving

  • Idiot. Go play your videogame and leave this things for the real men. Aquarium's fishman!

  • you've never been in jail... i would much rather eat berrys and fresh fish than be in jail

  • @ron17816 Yeah and you might get your hole aswell eh?

  • fuck gettig a liscence if some one asks to see it tell them to fuck off,

  • In ca. if you have no liscence they ticket you and it goes on record. you cant register your car or renew d/l until you pay it. if not paid right away at a cost of $1100 now and additional for each fish you have, it triples upon day ticket is due and not paid, then goes into a bench warrant and you actually go to jail! serve 30 days, pay court costs a fine and the ticket times 3 now! i liscence about $50 but worth every penny.

  • not in wales you get a £2000 fine just run tho

  • Thats ridiculous you need to have a rod license crazy law.

  • no not rely because people pay to stock rivers with fish also for me it only 20 pounds a year

  • whats a rod liscense? some kinda crazy uk law? jeeze first airsoft guns.then knives.now fishing rods!

  • great catch mate must try that myself

  • waw very nice job

  • Ew worms lol

  • @MrCemgok i am so glad that someone can be so rude explaining something to someone who doesnt know what a word means. i mean realy. do you know what a fag is in the US and what it means in the UK. you might if you live in the UK i doubt it though

  • @luigicook for us folks in the US or those that just dont know it is survival skills.

  • thats great and quite an immpresive catch for using a basic setup. good work :)

  • To bad that each DVD that you're selling will cost here in brasil about 33,45 R$ without the mail/shipping taxes ... so if i buy the all 7 dvds it will cost : 234,16 R$ without the shipping taxes .. so ..to expensive.... anyway .. good job ...and nice dog

  • i preffer fish with verry small shrimp (sometimes it is cut), snails and small fish parts.

  • were is the one where he stalks a heard of deer

  • the first earthworm was huge! in south texas there puny

  • lol thats tiny dude... you should see em up here in north dakota.. wooow

  • legal notice rofl

  • i was hoping for a bushcraft made line and hook but this was still reall good to know thanks

  • me 2

  • You'd better believe in a survival situation I would have eaten the first one, and used his guts to catch more. :)

  • brilliant video, thanks for posting,

  • no its a variety of stuff in each dvd otherwise i think the viewer gets bored.

  • teach a man to fish...

great videos, thanks for sharing your survival techniques and knowledge with the world.

  • your vids are very useful ,and can be even more for alot of poeple in the future. keep up the good work:)

  • Very nice making that survival stove. Normally when i see survival video's you have to buy this and that!.. but this is all made of common stuff we need everyday. The walking stick is good but i would prefer one end sharp for protection

  • i absolutely LOVE these videos. teach alot and are real.

  • Thanks for you comments we seem to sell a lot of our dvds to you guys over in the States, cheers

  • sounds like your in the middle of a army training area or next to a range you can hear the rounds blatting of in the background

  • nostalgia here too. My Dad taught me to fish, properly with all the right gear. Great fun, nice and relaxing too.

  • its a pleasure to watch a true expert not a television numty superb dvds I have all 7 volumes by the way cheers

  • very nice location

  • Nice fish mate but thats quite dodgy I saw a guy get the top 1/3 of his finger taken off by fishing line that got rapped around his finger when he was bringing in a big fish by hand ouch!

  • first time i just tied a knot with fishing line i cut myself bad enough for stitches

  • you dont need a fishing permit if you are a subsistance hunter/fisher its written in the laws, well in canada:P

  • do i have to do that thing with the walking stick? cuz i really didnt get it.

  • I love YouTube videos like these. Reminds me of when I was a kid fishing along the Big Sand Creek in southwest Mississippi. I had a similar system for casting grubs and worms as far down the creek as I could to catch catfish, sunbream and red-eyed bass. Thanks for the video.

  • Amen to that Snocamo154. This gives me the flashbacks too, back to when I was a very young kid down South. You could go into many local hardware stores or fishing shops and they would have pre-rigged line, weight and hook all wound onto an "H" shaped assembly fior a day of fishing. I don't remember if they cost a dime or a quarter back then, but they were cheap. I enjoy listening to Peter also. Great video

  • After I would catch a few fish, I would build a fire on the sandbar and cook the fish over the flames skewered on a willow wood stick. If the blackberries or dewberries were in season, I'd have a big handful of them as dessert. Simpler and happier days back then.

  • Pretty much the same in southwest Florida, except the vegatation was different. Yes- this can surely put you on a nostalgia trip
