Belgian govt tortured her for taxes they thought she owed on money she never received-as she had her payments given to the convent...then apparently after her death the convent denied getting the money...so she was so plagued by the greedy she died from suicide with her lover. Apparently after her death, 300000$ check was sitting there for her-so much for the greedy, as they eat the living.

Yes it is a sorrowful postlude to an incredibly talented woman. She left the convent as many did during the 60's much was over the glacial pace of the implementation of Vatican II reform, but it was also because of jealousy from her fellow sisters. She went on the live in a relationship with another woman, opened a house I think to receive the dying..the Belgian government was about to come down on her tax wise and at I think, the age of 51 she took her own life.

I had no Idea they had so many songs. i wrote to one of the Nuns about 5 years ago and she wrote back a lovely letter to me. I had expressed how much I loved their singing.

I still do. Bravo to these ladies.
