@TheGuy121592 I think he intentionally makes his voice raspier because he somehow thinks it's great. There used to be old recordings of this song where his voice was a lot more smoother and straight. I heard him do a live acoustic performance for my local radio station years and years ago, and his voice was a lot nicer.

Met Clayton (singer) after their show in Edmonton, Alberta and he was very nice, polite and very normal. Unlike some musicians who thought the were too good for regular people attending their shows, he was respectful and nice. Love this song! It's all good!
