"Give 'Em Enough Rope" came out in '78 and "London Calling" came out in 79. X, Black Flag and the Circle Jerks weren't too shabby, and they peaked much later than '78.. Spare us the bogus nostalgia. It may have been the death throes of the Pistols, but that is about it. The only thing near death at the end of the 70's was disco.

Definitely! One of the most under rated pure Rock'n'Roll guitarists ever! Many of Punk's musicians are over looked, due to the genre they were playing but if you think back, you will see there were some fantastic musicians in many British punk bands.
People give obvious credit to Lydon for the passion of the Pistols and the (although now obviously quite childish) lyrics. Glen for his great melody composing but Steve was the true heart of the Pistols!
