I'm new to the pocket pc thing but I'm looking to get the N800. I want to know how much orb 2 is and is it installed through the usb and is there and application for Aol AIM? Thanks any help is much needed.
I prefer Slingbox. i don't quite understand the hybe behind You Tube. Re-encoding every video, no matter which method, is tedious. I'd rather watch You Yube on a full computer, and Slingbox my DVR to the Nokia N800 (if I can).
i think the choppy framerate on the youtube video is b/c i think flash video uses alot of processing power especially at big demensions like scaled up i dunno
hey i was wondering would this be a good replacement for my pc? i only chat and use the net and watch the odd movie and music on my pc. can i use every web site like i do on my pc? i have psp and its web broswer is so bad it cant do anything .
Hi- I think I followed all of your suggestions and I think Orb is great on my N800, but instead of choppy video from YouTube, I get more Buffering. So, it looks better, but is still very annoying. Any other tricks?
When I set up like you said. I got the stream on my n800. But the video is saying the server does not have the codec to open flv file. However, I already have flash 9 installed on my server. Any comment will be appreciated.
Don't use Flash streaming! Use Real. Check your stream settings (while logged into Orb from the tablet) and make sure it's trying to stream with Real. The .FLV support on the N800 is there but weak.
I use real streaming in n800. The media player comes up. I got the audio and the video is saying the server cannot process flv file. Do we need the flash codec in the server?
Love your thoughts, great stuff. So do i need to download thecontent from YouTube to the orbhost first? I assume i cant stream from you tube through orb.
How do you open videos from ORB to the n800. I get to the part of picking the video but the screen pops up with only the option to save the stream and not open. What do I need to change in the settings?
1: Make sure RealPlayer or RealAlternative are installed on your PC with Orb. 2: Set the stream type to RealVideo and the bit rate around 200kbps. 3: Check all your firewall settings and see if you can tune into Orb from your PC or mobile phone.
Hey im either planning on buying this or the n95, was just wondering if you could chat/video conference with people via msn messanger or a similar program, but with your msn contacts.
I can't tell you how sexy that N95 is, but the N800 is useful for me. The N800 is NOT a phone, but you can use it with your phone or WiFi to get online. Use GAIM for MSN Messenger chatting.
will I be able to use Veoh? thanks.

There's no Slingbox client on the N800. Orb works on anything with a browser.

2. Think of something you wanna accomplish within the next week and say it to your self 6 times
3. If you had 1 wish what would it be? say it to yourself 9 times!!!
4. Think of something that you want to happen
send this to at least 15 videos and your dream will come true

You shouldn't be getting any FLV on the errors if you're using Real, but go ahead and try installing Flash on the serving PC

Orb tunes in the video on demand, then streams it back to you. Hence the buffering time.

Not currently. Follow the GAIM project to see if they will add webcam support.
