I was so close to buying this in Game the other day on sale for £2. So glad I didn't! It would have scared the shit out of me hahaha. Also, the setting and everything reminds me of Left 4 Dead 2.

if you put the brightness down a lot more it's way scarier. especially by yourself with really good headphones :D

I was thinking about this game, but I don't think I can deal with all the picking up and dropping of a weapon. Would have been nice if you could keep at least two guns and find ammo...like traditional (but you need to pick up that axe for the door). I know developers are trying to be original (some are), but some traditions are not meant to be broken. Common sense on that one.

@MrCrazylupo It's from the same people who made FEAR (Monolith). It's TERRIFYING at times, it's got some serious fighting in it (mostly melee), and yes there are some monsters. I played it about a year ago and would say it's an 8 out of 10. For another game similar to FEAR, check out Singularity.

Dead Space is a shooter with cool atmosphere, gore and some RPG elements.

This is a homeless person murder simulator with cool atmosphere and violence.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent is a real horror game.

In Dead Space you're constantly thinking, "Man, it would suck to be Isaac."

In Condemned you constantly think, "Die, homeless scum!"

In Amnesia you think, "I can't fucking play this with the lights off."

This is the creepiest, spookiest, greatest of all horror hames. This is The Game. Only Clive Barker's Undying came very close to its merits. Yea, it's violent, but the violence here is so finely balanced with atmosphere and gameplay - it's all justified on the screen, every inch of this game has a place. A MASTERPIECE.

You hear that, all you phony 'dead space' designers? You are not even close. Being able to spurt buckets of gore and monsters doesn't mean you're making a game. Learn that.
