  • You will have a lot of explanations about this little CHEF-D'OEUVRE of classical piano composition, into the life of Jehan Alain in the fabulous book of Bernard Gavoty who was a great friend of him, called "Jehan Alain, Musicien Français".

It was edited in 1945, just after the second War, and there is a re-edition of the eighties - concretely, 1985 - of this fantastic biography.

Alain is one of the most fabulous genious, absolutely alone, french composer.

  • @TheCatedral Thank you for your interesting comment. If I ever get the opportunity to find this book, I'm sure I will find it fascinating.

  • From listening to his piano music, I get the impression that, like Beethoven, Alain liked to try his most experimental ideas out on the piano before using them in his larger works.

  • You could be right about that, but I don't know enough about Alain to be able to qualify that.

    Thanks for your comment.
