They are absolutely incredible games and for the record the one with the best story line would be FF VII its just...SO GOOD! I recommend you start there :D

@stayawayfromtheshed Yep, it's my favorite game. If you liked anything from the Final Fantasy VII series, you have to play this. But I do recommend playing the original FFVII before playing this, but either way is fine. This is coming from someone who played the series in such a backwards order. Just keep in mind if u played VII you'll be going "oooh that's why..." and what not a lot. Anyway, I highly recommend this game. It's one of the few games that I can never get enough of

Oh, yeah, I played FFVII right after it came out. I was 12 at the time and the only other rpg's I had were Super Mario RPG and Lufia II.

FFVII blew my mind. I never played Crono Trigger, though. Wasn't even aware of it.

Voice acting ruined Final Fantasy. Try to imagine Final Fantasy 7 (the original) with voice acting. The story pacing, the charm, the credibility of the dumbed down dialogue - nothing would work. And that's why Final Fantasy games prior to 10 are so much better than anything they released after that.

@wishpishh I beg to differ, some games have really good voice acting. Final Fantasy XII had great acting, besides that one white guy that sounded like he was from India. Balthier voice was probably the best of all of Final Fantasy, as was Fran's. Vaan's was irritating, but not as irritating as it could have been.

@xxxanimepopxxx I agree, some voice acting is decent, especially in FFXII. However, I still think my remaining points remain valid when speaking of that game also. Especially the thing about story pacing - where FFXII was much less engaging and a bit too slow-paced. But also the point about charm, or humor if you will. The humor in FFVII works in a text-based game, but it would translate very poorly into voice acting, imo.

In fact, it felt as though they could've made a version specifically for English! I know that's not the case but it felt that way. And...this *is* the English version of the game, the official one. Why the uploader screamed to not ask how they got it like it's just purely illegal or something, I don't know but they make themselves look very suspect, xD

@Theroguesunit6 Masters ? It's Curaga and Barrier. Yes I'm sure, they do, but I haven't played in a while. Barrier lowers damage whilst Curaga heals an enormous amount of health, though it takes more MP.
