The problem is that we must get back to our roots! Black people need to stop trying to follow this Eurocentric point of view of what constitutes a family. Yes, black male and female relationships are strained but even worse, the village as a whole is strained! We must get back to a village mentality! We must start helping and empowering one another! We need to start teaching our children about their REAL history and culture and when they do better - we do better as a village!

This was a great book! I learned alot about myself and my relationship and it has strengthened my relationship and has me very seriously considering marriage now. A must read for all african american men and women.

Hill harper is great to hear speak. I like the fact that though he has success in life, he understands that he is suppose to be involved in proactively helping in his community. To whom much is given much is required. All the issues that he talked about are large issues in the black community. Listen to the statistics of single parent house holds in the black community. I don't know how fun a relationship book can be, but it's good to hear that he wants to find a solution to the issue.

I absoutley love Hill Harper. I read both of his books Letters to a Young Sister and The Conversation, and both were fantastic. I laughed so hard while reading The Conversation it 's really well written. I would love to see this book become a play. When reading the book you can see how black men and women really distrust each other. We have started to believe the myths about one another.  Hill is so intellegent and engaing I can't take my eyes off of him when ever I see him. And he is Hot!!
