It's not Satan cause if you write Santa down the first letter backwards is an A not N.Its atnas.And Atnas is the Opposite of Santa.But I doubt that he's even close to being Satan.

So while they MIGHT be lyp synching, don't push aside the possibility that they might be using overhead microphones and that it might be live. Also do you not see te little things on the side of their faces? Those are microphones as well. Which means either it's there for appearances (not likely) or they are ACTUALLY singing (likely).

I'm sorry, but this is really sanitized gruel for the ears. I just caught a few minutes of their show on PBS and thought I had seen some Lawrence Welk re-run... What I saw was some no-talent poseurs LIP-SYNCING a live show... FAKE, CRAP, WHITE-BRED SHITE!
I was absolutely taken by the first Celtic Thunder show and bought the DVD and CD. Played it over and over. The second one, Take Me Home, started to change the beauty of the group, and It's Entertainment was really disappointing as it seems as the group thinks they need to change to be good. Not true - they're loosing what they started out as - a group from Ireland that dashed America.
It's Entertainment is just supposed to be a tribute to some of the great music of the last 40 (or so) years. They haven't quit Irish music. Storm is coming out this summer (more of a musical than just a concert/show), and as I understand it, Phil Coulter composed that music. I've also heard rumor (which I hope is true) of a more traditional Irish CD being on its way. And maybe a Christmas one too. They haven't abandoned Celtic, they're simply giving a nod to some other styles of music as well.

Celtic Thunder and Celtic Women are managed by the same person. If that person thought they could be combined it would happen. As it is, I don't think it would work. Celtic Women mainly sing. Celtic Thunder puts on a real show combining music and acting.

i do think it looks like they lip sync sometimes, but its probably because of the way the video was uploaded. the video's sync may not by exact. So i dont think they lip sync. However, if one of them were to do it, i think it is Damien. Not because he has a bad voice (he has a great voice) but i think that since he was 14 or 15 when this show was done, his voice may not have been consistent enough....but if you have voices like those, who needs to lip sync :P i think those are their real voices
@gstant2k9 it is their real voices. They sang live when it was filmed, but they dubbed them with the recorded tracks for DVD. If you watch the Take Me Home DVD, they aren't dubbed at all and its them singing live and in concert.
Saw the show last night(May2) WOW Everything I hoped for. I agree george did such a great job on 500 Miles. Keith Harkin The Island was totally awesome,one of my favs.Each and everyone brings something to make an incredible show.
Yeah, I'm a bit discombobulated about the lip-sync thing...once in a while it seems as if someone is a bit off. But I don't really care...the singing is their voices and I'm sure it was edited to produce the best audio/visual performance. Glad you are excited about them also...I loved their live performance also. The audience was very enthusiastic and sang along on a couple songs at the end. Can't wait to see them again! I saw the show last night (3/31) in Buffalo, I was totally enthralled with experiencing it live. The power in the music and voices was overwhelming! They know how to play to an audience - and the audience responded! ...and as handsome as they each are - even more so in person!!! FANTASTIC show!!!
I just saw them in concert last year....*Sigh* It was AMAZING! They were so good! Although...George slipped and almost fell, and I cried because I didn't want Georgiepoo to get hurt... but they are the best band in the whole entire Scotland!

Why would you think they are lip syncing? I saw them last night in DC, and with all the audience interaction, plus the aged acoustics of Constitution Hall, I would say they did a fabulous live performance.
They're the most exciting group to come around in years. It's their singing, and if they are lip-syncing on stage...it's still their singing. They're just great and I don't care if they're lip-syncing or not...but I don't think they are. They've got my attention and admiration, no matter.
From what I can piece together they lip-syncing the DVD or they edited over it with the studio sound, but either way the DVD isn't really live. But then at there live shows it's ALL THEM, no lip-synching at all. And they still sound brilliant.

Say folks, everyone has a right to their opinion, that's one of the things that still great about the US. I happen to enjoy Celtic Thunder and growing up a musician myself consider them talented. I sure can understand if it's "not your cup of tea", but to say they are "terrible" or express that they are not talented is simply not true. I believe Puppy Love was lip sync'd simply to help Damian concentrate on his "dance" movements. Give them a break-they're obviously more talented than we are!
Celtic Women was obviously used for this... They were both created by the same producer. They're supposed to have the same sort of feel. This is just guys... I like them better though.

If you don't think they're lip syncing, watch the young one sing "Puppy Love" again. My wife and I watched some of this program on PBS and within 2 seconds of watching even my wife could tell he was lip syncing. I have no problem with it as long as they're lip-ping their own voice like Britney, Christina and Janet do but to get defensive about it and get mad at us that know they are doing it is just ridiculous.
Unless you personally witnessed the use of the lip-syncing equipment, your statement is just speculation. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously inaccurate, and you aren't even an eyewitness.
Lip-syncing equipment? What is that? Memorex? I use my eyes and ears to tell if it's lip synced or not and that's all the tools you would need as well.

It makes me mad to think that any of you would believe they are lip synching. If you watch close enough, you can they are not. And it breaks my heart that my one chance to see them live here in Louisiana was taken away. They were to perform at the Baton Rouge River Center and not enough people bought seats. To anyone who believes these guys are lip synching - get your heads out of your rears! I live un Saratoga, NY and Keith is my mother-in law's nephew. Sharon, the producer got us great seats to the Albany show and we went down to the AC show last night. We sat right behind the audio/visual sound board operators island and when George's voice cracked a bit in his first solo, the engineers quickly reduced some gain control to keep the amplitude around 70 dB. They sung every song, Period!
At the end of Paul Byrom's number the vibrato is quite plain to see, and vibrato is something you can't display if you aren't actually singing. This was shot off their first live performance, and it's been well-established that they do their performances live.
I'm with Haunty... doesn't seem like they are singing live at all. I can puy a wireless mic on my head and not turn it on and just move my lips. Also, you can watch their adam's apples, they aren't moving.
Okay, I had to study this a bit, and then go look up Alice Cooper and Neil Diamond for comparison... I say their adam's apples ARE moving - at least as much as Neil Diamond's does, and I doubt anyone's going to accuse HIM of lip-synching.

i do think it looks like they lip sync sometimes, but its probably because of the way the video was uploaded. the video's sync may not by exact. So i dont think they lip sync. However, if one of them were to do it, i think it is Damien. Not because he has a bad voice (he has a great voice) but i think that since he was 14 or 15 when this show was done, his voice may not have been consistent enough....but if you have voices like those, who needs to lip sync :P i think those are their real voices

@gstant2k9 it is their real voices. They sang live when it was filmed, but they dubbed them with the recorded tracks for DVD. If you watch the Take Me Home DVD, they aren't dubbed at all and its them singing live and in concert.

Saw the show last night(May2) WOW Everything I hoped for. I agree george did such a great job on 500 Miles. Keith Harkin The Island was totally awesome,one of my favs.Each and everyone brings something to make an incredible show.

Yeah, I'm a bit discombobulated about the lip-sync thing...once in a while it seems as if someone is a bit off. But I don't really care...the singing is their voices and I'm sure it was edited to produce the best audio/visual performance. Glad you are excited about them also...I loved their live performance also. The audience was very enthusiastic and sang along on a couple songs at the end. Can't wait to see them again! Thanks SunFlower.

I saw the show last night (3/31) in Buffalo, I was totally enthralled with experiencing it live. The power in the music and voices was overwhelming! They know how to play to an audience - and the audience responded! ...and as handsome as they each are - even more so in person!!! FANTASTIC show!!!

I just saw them in concert last year....*Sigh* It was AMAZING! They were so good! Although...George slipped and almost fell, and I cried because I didn't want Georgiepoo to get hurt... but they are the best band in the whole entire Scotland!

Why would you think they are lip syncing? I saw them last night in DC, and with all the audience interaction, plus the aged acoustics of Constitution Hall, I would say they did a fabulous live performance.

I was at that performance also...they were so exciting...what voices...even in that old hall. Just loved George doing 500 Miles.

They're the most exciting group to come around in years. It's their singing, and if they are lip-syncing on stage...it's still their singing. They're just great and I don't care if they're lip-syncing or not...but I don't think they are. They've got my attention and admiration, no matter.

From what I can piece together they lip-syncing the DVD or they edited over it with the studio sound, but either way the DVD isn't really live. But then at there live shows it's ALL THEM, no lip-synching at all. And they still sound brilliant.

Say folks, everyone has a right to their opinion, that's one of the things that still great about the US. I happen to enjoy Celtic Thunder and growing up a musician myself consider them talented. I sure can understand if it's "not your cup of tea", but to say they are "terrible" or express that they are not talented is simply not true. I believe Puppy Love was lip sync'd simply to help Damian concentrate on his "dance" movements. Give them a break-they're obviously more talented than we are!

Its sad how so many people in the world today just can't appreciate an amazing voice these days. Its funny to think that, and i guarantee, that everyone disrespecting this group most diffidently can't sing and has no talent in life but to go on youtube and say horrible things about other people. The songs might not be very good but there voices, especially the little boys, make this group amazing. Its true talent that these men have, unlike most singers on the radio I can't wait to see them live

If you don't think they're lip syncing, watch the young one sing "Puppy Love" again. My wife and I watched some of this program on PBS and within 2 seconds of watching even my wife could tell he was lip syncing. I have no problem with it as long as they're lip-ping their own voice like Britney, Christina and Janet do but to get defensive about it and get mad at us that know they are doing it is just ridiculous.

Unless you personally witnessed the use of the lip-syncing equipment, your statement is just speculation. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously inaccurate, and you aren't even an eyewitness.

Lip-syncing equipment? What is that? Memorex? I use my eyes and ears to tell if it's lip synced or not and that's all the tools you would need as well.

Defiinently not lip synching. When I saw them here (yay! it was awesome), Paul messed up his clapping in Raggle Taggle, and you could hear the laugh in his voice. Plus they change the songs a bit every time they sing them-- like the end note of Mountains of Mourne Keith didn't hold out. He did a different thing with it.

It makes me mad to think that any of you would believe they are lip synching. If you watch close enough, you can they are not. And it breaks my heart that my one chance to see them live here in Louisiana was taken away. They were to perform at the Baton Rouge River Center and not enough people bought seats. The fools around here would rather watch monster trucks and hear country music than go see an internation singing group.

Don't be so hard on your neighbors. The blame lies with the promoters. I'm sure there would have been plenty of people here in New Orleans willing to make the hour drive there if we had only known about it. How well was it advertised there in Baton Rouge? Was it mentioned there on NPR or PBS?

To anyone who believes these guys are lip synching - get your heads out of your rears! I live un Saratoga, NY and Keith is my mother-in law's nephew. Sharon, the producer got us great seats to the Albany show and we went down to the AC show last night. We sat right behind the audio/visual sound board operators island and when George's voice cracked a bit in his first solo, the engineers quickly reduced some gain control to keep the amplitude around 70 dB. They sung every song, Period!

At the end of Paul Byrom's number the vibrato is quite plain to see, and vibrato is something you can't display if you aren't actually singing. This was shot off their first live performance, and it's been well-established that they do their performances live.

I'm with Haunty... doesn't seem like they are singing live at all. I can puy a wireless mic on my head and not turn it on and just move my lips. Also, you can watch their adam's apples, they aren't moving.

Okay, I had to study this a bit, and then go look up Alice Cooper and Neil Diamond for comparison... I say their adam's apples ARE moving - at least as much as Neil Diamond's does, and I doubt anyone's going to accuse HIM of lip-synching.
It may be that they're lip-synching, but it doesn't seem that way to me.
