This video represents the excellence of Bishop Walter Hawkins and the work he presented to the world. Our prayer is that his legagy of great music will live on in those who have been a part of his masterful presentations. God bless each person who listens to this trak.
My heart cries out, Oh Thank You Jesus. It is "marvelous". "What a wonderful thing You done>" Every time I hear that song, my heart just sings. I don't even have the proper words to let all you know how I'm feeling right now. I just worship and praise His holy and righteous Name. I have loved all the music since experienced "O Happy Day" in college. Even tho' I'm nearly housebound, My spirit glories. Please pray for me, beloved of GOD
The best gospel artist of my time, I loved him dearly and grew up on he and Edwins music. I first saw them in concert 39 years ago in DC. I mean absolutely no any harm or disrespect in anyway to his memory. Upon hearing this I knew without a doubt that Bishop Hawkins had been delivered and set free from something. Really listen to the words and the great conviction in which he sang this. This was his song of thanksgiving and praise to God for the Marvelous thing he had done. .
The only way to write such lyrics one must have an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ in such a way as to embrace His marvelous love and have such a thorough understanding of that love and a commitment to convey this message with every fiber of your being; as if your very existence depends upon it. When revelation knowledge meets an empty vessel, yielded and still; anointed by the creator to be that Devine intervention or human conduit by which the Father Himself speaks, "IT'S MARVELOUS!"
this song,.. this song- so authentic, timely, compelling & powerful ! Whenever I hear it, I am reminded of a sermon Bishop Hawkins preached a few years back about 'cleaving to God & His Word- how that God has given us His commandments to protect us & to guide us. Also, God's Word provides benefits for our communities, our families, our selves and the Kingdom of God. If you're interested read Deut. 4-8, & chap 28 & Galatians. The Word of God is LIVING & POWERFUL & sharper then any 2 edge sword
God truly broke the mold after HE created Walter Hawkins. There will never be another one as gifted and anointed like him. Truly a blessing from God. We miss you so much. God Bless the family and church family....outstanding!
I Will Always Love This Song, Listen To It Everyday, Over and Over Again. Truly A Song That Will And Can Bless Your Spirit. Whenever I Need A Quick Pick Me Up I Listen To This Song. Totally Gifted Man. R.I. P. Walter Hawkins, You Are Totally Missed.
I have this taped from Gospel Videos Show on cable a few years ago. The VHS tape has been played so many times over the past few years. It's become my "daily spiritual" dose. Just can't get enough of this man's music...been hooked since the 70's....love all the Hawkins family. Thank you God for such a magnificent talent...oh! He had to be an anointed one. May God bless his family and the Love Center ministry. Check out the Walter Hawkins Fan Pages on Facebook-so much love flowing there.
Love you Bishop Walter Hawkins. Thanking you for your contributions to gospel music. I can not pick a favorite because all of your songs ministers to me. Good nite Bishop we will see you on the other side.
I was blessed to see Walter and Edwin last year in Boston. There will never be another voice like Walter Hawkins. Marvelous was the Hit of the evening...
Bishop Walter Hawkins passed away July 11, 2010, after a two year battle with pancreatic cancer. My brother Elton and I got to meet the ledendary brothers of Gospel Music; Walter and Edwin Hawkins, in the 80's backstage, after a concert at the Hopewell Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey. R.I.P Bishop... ...Your Music Is Alive and Well..TGBTG!!!!
Bishop Walter Hawkin's beautiful voice and anointed music ministry will continue to bless the world for ages to come. Thank you Hawkins Family for your dedication to spreading the salvation message of Jesus Christ. May God richly bless you all.
I am saddened by the loss of this "gospel music treasure", but I take courage in knowing that he's absent from this earthly body, and present with the Lord! His music ministry has positively influenced my life down thru the years. Thank you Lord, for blessing us with this special gift...Bishop Walter Hawkins!!!
R.I.P Bishop Hawkins... I thank God for the blessing of growing up under you tutelage in ministry. You taught me so much and I will miss our talks. I am thankful that you saw in me what I didn't see in myself. I love you and miss!!!
Rest In Peace thank you 4 all the wonderful support u gave 2 me and my group
it was such an honor to work with you and the family down through the years.Though I'm saden....U'r work down here is done. Well Done Bishop ur musical legacy will ~~~~```
live on 4 ever.......1949-2010 My condolences 2 Edwin& The Hawkins Family &
i remember hearing this song as a little girl on the radio. even though i did not understand salvation yet, i found an unresistable attraction to this song. now that i and 21, listening to these words and the anointing on this song stirs up my very spirit because the words of this song mean something now.
Seems like Walter Hawkins looks better, and sounds better as time goes by. What a blessing he has been to our lives through the years. A very precious ministry indeed.
Thanks again to the Hawkins family, for allowing the Lord to take control. I was crippled, and one day as I was attempting to walk again the holy spirit deposited this song in my heart. As I returned home, I searched for the song, I was not acquainted with it. I proceeded to play it about a thousand times and saturated my being with the anointing found in these words. Walter, may God continue to use you as you bless the body of Christ. May He abundantly bless your obedience to His will.
This song ministers to the soul. Tthink of where you were in this life and how the enemy had his grip on your life. Understand what GOD has done for us in taking our place on the cross, nails nailed trough HIS hands, hairs of HIS beard plucked out, the beating.... then begin to allow GOD to usher you into HIS presence.... Let the world & all things become oblivious to you, knowing in WHO's presence you are in....
What a GOD and what a sacrafice! What a marvelous thing HE has done!
I've heard many choirs/lead singers/directors renditions of this song; they were some of the best and I truly enjoyed them, anointed or not; because you see the anointing is in the listener's praise and all the Glory goes to God; who is the creator of man thus man's creativity belongs to God also. It's not about the choir or the soloist. Seek God first and all else is added. God gave this song to Bishop Hawkins who continues to deliver it in the way he was purposed to do. Its all about worship
I was headed out...BUT thank God I ran across this song...I agree with MrPrettyDude....this song will take you right on in, if you haven't felt god's presense in awhile just listen at this and you will feel it...Oh Glory....Hallelujah!
You know I think you're right, but the annointing of a song mostly deals with the song-writer at the time the song is being written. This performance by Bishop is awesome&flawless, but through practice it can be emulated with a good choir/lead/director.
So true...but if the choir or the director is not annointed then it won't be the same...the annointing makes the difference. You cannot even sing but if the Lord annoint you then you would sound better than Fantasia or anyone else with a melodious voice...so too speak!
@blwalker44 I totally agree; it ushers you right into the presence of God, where all you want to do is just praise HIM. May God bless you beyond belief!
This song is forever old.....But my God. It can catch you at the right time and speak to and through your soul. I am a grown man sitting here tearing up. Just happened to be listening to it on my cable music channel and now have replayed it on youtube for the past hour.

Listen Bishop Hawkins seems to be quite annointed during this season in his life but I'm talking about this Millinium, I've seen 2 soloist do this song in the last 5yrs better than Bishop. Bishop rendition is Fabo at that age then, I watch it over and over but I saw a Choir use 2 diff soloist on several occasions out do this rendition. If it helps any the then Choir Director has been directing Mass Choirs before he even reached puberty he's in his Mid 40's now.
Antioch Baptist Church North Atl,GA has been flawlessly doing this song so long until most of the members know the song verbatim. The then Choir Director H.B. Dixon, grew up in Michigan his directing of this gem of a song was always flawless.
He has been so marvelous! Thank You God for all that you do for me, despite those times that I refuse to hear or listen. Much Love to always, your servant.
