  • Hey man, how's going, may I know what kind of regulator you use with your G5, do you set it at 35 psi by the regulator or the air source ? Thanks.

  • Hi Nice job.

May I know what liquid in the can that you use to spray before and after painting?

    what's the purpose of that?

  • what about all that over spray, you can see it floating around, that gets on the paintwork would they t cut the whole car. for there customer?

  • @battlestarone -"cut" dont understand. Anyway I've said it several times already. I work for only dealerships. They wouldnt let me put a car back on the lot with over spray on it. Anyone who doubts me can come to work with me for a week. I'll pay $100 for every car that you can find with over spray it.

  • @ROUGH27 Where do you get that wheel paint protector?

  • Found one looks just like a die grinder (orbital sander) 2 in I think I will try it, only $29.90. Thanks for your info, Happy Wheelin man.

  • Hi, may I know the make and model of your orbital sander if you don't mind. I've been looking online but yours seems very compact, thanks man.

  • @hkg510, I've been through a handfull of different brands. anymore I just get them from Harbor Frieght. They last just as long as the expensive ones. Plus, it will come down to what is more comfortable for you. I do recommend getting two just for a backup.

  • @ROUGH27 Hey man, thanks again. Just wanted to make sure i am getting the right one, otherwise my wife will kick my ASS.

  • @ROUGH27 Good job on the video.I would really like to talk to you about the wheel repair business. i am on the other end of the country from you and want to add wheel repair to my business. i would like to learn more about your process.

  • Too bad they don't show the finished product close up. I had a company called Alloy Wheel Repair Specialist do my wheels on my Nissan and they didn't look right at all. Cost $65 a wheel. What a waste!

  • @coreyratz- We charge $55 a wheel unless it's Ghost Chrome and if you're not happy then you dont pay. But, we only work locally.

  • Hi, may I know what type of conditioning discs do you use, keep up with your great job.

  • @hkg510 , 3m 320 grit sandpaper and all kinds of 3m scotch brite discs depending on how deep the rash is. the 320 on the orbital sander is the most important though. That's how I spot out other guys work because a lot of them only use the scotch brite and paint over it. Witch you might as well just pain over the scratch in the first place place cause you can see it plain as day. Hope that helps

  • @ROUGH27 Oh and not that cheap red 3m shit sand paper either. Get the yellow roll. $100 a roll but it's well worth it in the long run.

  • @ROUGH27 Hey, thank you so much, it helps alot. Like your video so much.

  • @ROUGH27 Hi again, I will go full time with this job sooner or later, right now I am using the 3m sanding sponge for the finishing by hands. And your menthods are very efficient hopefully I can get to learn more from you as I am watching your video almost everyday. Hey thanks again and sure you have lots of fans like me.

  • @hkg510 What part of the country are you in?

  • @ROUGH27 Louisana

  • @hkg510 Nice, you're luck you dont have to deal much with snow or winter. Happy Wheelin

  • @ROUGH27 Man, it's hot like HELL here in summer, I rather deal with the cold. By the way where are you located ? You too Happy Wheelin

  • @hkg510 Robinson IL, I'm in farmland though. My route takes me 100 miles in every direction. At the end of the year those miles are awesome tho. On a map I'm about halfway between Indy and St. Louis

  • @ROUGH27 Wow, that's real cool, I like the coountry side alot, very Peaceful man.

Wish to visit you one day, well maybe way down the road. But very glad to have a friend like you.

  • I like his shirt!!

  • nope, traded work with a guy and this is what happened to my car brakes because of this same method. thought I wouldn't notice.

  • @adamfirstman-Well man, we've taken countless dealerships from guys doing carelss work. I am actually sorry you had a bad experience. It's those kind of dipshits that burn the bridge on both sides. I've even run into "wheel companies" that have minivans full of rattle cans and no actual tools at all. You shouldnt judge everyone in a trade by one guy that doesnt know the trade. I know 1st hand there are a ton of horrible wheel companies out there.

  • Just imagine fixing a wheel on a Ferrari. All that lovely silver paint and clear covering the red or yellow calipers and making the rotor hum when they hit the brakes. But that's something a Honda Accord owner wouldn't care about...ever.

  • @adamfirstman- The only way you would ever know if a rotor "hummed" from paint is if you yourself had painted one?? Further more, do any of you brilliant paint experts understand that the car in the video is at a DEALERSHIP.. One of 10 cars repaired that day. So, of course they were pleased with 10 cars covered in "Overspray" put back on the lot?? Really? least of all this is an example vid. Not a how-to-step-by-step.

  • Do you guys even know what overspary is ?? go work on a rim before you say something bad about a good job, or make sure you know what you're doing.

  • Don't do it.. you might get arrested for having bad taste.

  • Its hard to respect your work with that stupid shirt on...

  • @TheTonyMastodon- I'm going to the courthouse in the morning to add "The" in front of my name. I believe it will give me the respect I'm so longing for...

  • I think he is doing a great job.

  • Fail.......nice over spray flying all over the cars body.

  • @vspec20026 I tell ya what, you can come out with me for a week of work and I'll give you $100 for every car that gets "overspray" on it.

  • As soon as you hit that with a pressure washer the paint is gona fly off. Its just a horrible quick fix.

  • @jonnbb I'm sure if you were fixing it that would be the problem.

  • you shoud remove the wheels and brake bead

  • @greywolf633 well I was going to but this car had shot it's muffler bearings and was low on red brake light fluid. Sorry

  • looks like he knows what hes doing

  • i'm a paint sprayer by trade and one bodyshop i worked in done it this way and untill you try it you dont realise how effective and quick this way of doing it is and your be suprised, there is nooo overspray atall :)

  • @slayerx4life thanks man, it's nice to hear someone say something that makes sence. So many doubters out there... You'd think I posted a UFO video

  • @ROUGH27 your welcome man, lmao think its because these people either aint painters (or think they can paint!!!) or just never tried it themselfs :D

  • Did the nuts and centre cap need painting too?

  • ohh man, what a bodge! Nothing like a good bit of paint on the caliper and disc?

  • @lilbenjem, You don't know much about paint guns do you.

  • @ROUGH27

I know plenty about paint guns. What about the overspray on the centre cap and wheel nuts? Good to see you had a mask on too ;)

  • @lilbenjem If you actually pay attention to the video, this was a lip repair. Since I use an iwata eclipse G5. The risk of overspray anywhere is zero. Maybe you're not skilled enough to contain overspray. But, we repair over 100 wheels a week for dealerships only. So, I'm sure if overspray was an issue we wouldnt have any clients at all.

  • You never showed the close up of the finished product?

  • @elyh777 Yeah I only realized that after I posted the vid. Honestly I'd rather show a before and after of a bad wheel. This one was a bit simple of an example.

  • i'd like to know about where to get a band like that too. You are a real pro man... nice vid. Next time some narration would be helpful for us dyi noobs!

  • There is real artistry there - it's obvious that you've been doing that for quite a while. Nice Job. I am curious about that band. Is that custom made or can that be bought?

  • Was up man. Great results. I do wheel repair here in Atlanta and I have a quick question. Where did you get the adjustable tire paint shield? I have been using a piece of cardboard when doing wheels but your method seems to make sooooo much more sense. Keep up the good work and let me know was up w/ that metal band shield... Peace

  • @cloverdale87- if you pay attention closely in the vid you can see how long I hold my breath while spraying anything at all. Usually on breezy days especially on small touchup jobs like this its faster for me to hold my breath. On a whole wheel, yes I wear a mask. Its great that you think I'm cool, but I work the way I work for money not for opinions of people who miss the point of the video in the first place.

  • someone smart enuff to go to the gym but not give a crap about his lungs?

In that 10 min. you sucked in break dust, heavy metal, silica sand, old clear coat, powder coat, and a bunch of crap from the spray cans that i could not even begin to tell you how bad they are for you.

Life is best thought of LONG TERM. Your body stores things.

    Save cool for after work.

  • @383zero: the 1st aresol was bulldog adhesion promoter n the second was just clearcoat, I on days I have enough painted wheels n a row I use clear that has the breakable hardener n the bottom of the can. Saves my mixing time.

  • That's pretty cool, bro. All the aerosol that you were using, was it just clear, or were you touching the the wheel paint, too? Nonetheless, your system and procedure are awesome.

  • nice job. good video

  • ♥ cake :)

  • Nice work, I am interested in going in to wheel repair myself. Were did you get your Training?
