  • I don't think, this was so impressive

Of course, considering that they are 6 and 7, it's like WTF?

But i'm a yellowbelts, i'm doing karate for a year now and i regognized every singel move they made (Of course, they performed those move persicely, but still...), so if this was the whole examination, i don't think they should be Blackbelts...

  • @funkie1221 dude, you CANT see the detail in the moves and techniques

  • These kids are awesome, no doubt about it but...dan gradings should involve a good chunk of full contact sparring or at least near against other black belts surely. Now I don't know about you guys, but I would feel kinda guilty if I had to go kick one of those kids in the face.

  • @eajholmes Or is there a group of awesome little black belts to kick the shit out of each other in the gradings.... That would be simultaneously awesome and terrible.

  • fuck you all jelous fags sayin that a belt should mean maturity,ur just jelly cuz he started training earlier than you did and he's actually really good.lighten up you dinosaurs.kid got potential.stop moaning.

  • This is how more kids in western films should be. self empowered and discipled.

  • sweet jesus i'd be ass-kicked by those kids... 6 y.o and 1 dan...

  • Most adults aren't that good. Usually I would be against giving small kids Dan rank but from the looks of it these two have a pretty good idea what they're doing....Time will tell.

  • WOW

  • wtf they so fuckin good and they r super young damn! thats whats training does to u though haha ima martial artist too these kids r beast.

  • Most karate organizations do not accept applicants for shodan under the age of 16-17, for obvious reasons. Individual clubs, however, can give grades as the chief instructor sees fit.

That said, these "kids" wipe the floor with most of what passes for black belts as far as technique goes. Karate in Japan is on a whole different level.

  • Ese niño se parece a Gohan!

    the kid is Gohan!

  • thing is:

They may be good in the technique, but shouldn't a belt also represent your maturity and wisdom as a karateka?

  • @Yautja297 How do you know they don't? Just because your 6 can't mean your not mature. Heck you almost have to be to have the motivation to be that good.

  • @Ballowall i think maturity has to do something with experience in life and behaviour.

When you're that young you can't have a clear mind of your own, with your own opinion, you may talk as an adult but you're not one because you talk like one.

About the motivation: I think true motivation also comes with maturity, they probably are motivated because their parents motivated them.

I don't want to make you angry or anything but thats just my opinion ;)

  • @Yautja297 Yeah I get what your saying. They wont be "Mature" at that age (probably) but clearly they posses skill and alot of discipline. Normally I'd laugh at any organization that gives small children Dan ranking but I'm on the fence with this one. In my organization the youngest they have ever made exception for is I think 14. And I thought he was like 17 anyway lol. Of course in Japan the society is very different so what do I know?

  • @Ballowall and thats what i meant actually^^

that a belt shouldn't only represent technical skill but also your maturity.. but thats just my opinion^^

  • Getting a black belt and being Dan grade is a whole different ball game to being a kyu grade. :)

And a whole other can of worms...well worth it though...

  • Its shitty kata .... They probly dont know how to use it in a fight

  • @MrPrankHack This isn't kata

  • @MrPrankHack that's what sparring is for. It's a part of every examination and any black belt not from a McDojo has SOME idea of how to do it. You don't see kids with moves this sharp this often. My guess is they can hold their own with most kids.

  • they're screaming like cuting chicken :D

  • so pode ta de zuaçao ca minha kara neh kkkkk'

  • @karatekid29 I think the same thing I've been in karate for 6yrs and JUST got my first Dan

  • awesome

  • why do you give 1st DAN to a 6 year old kid? there is much more to be a black belt than doing a couple of kicks and punches in the air. Every master in Karate should be aware of the responsibility he bares. I don't think kids can be.

On the other hand respect to these children, impressive how accurate their technique is. For an adult it takes a long time training.

  • @Karatekid29 They get it because they earned it... They learned everything they had to, to get to the next belt. When you know everything you may wanna lvl up too right?

  • @Karatekid29 They do it differently in Japan & Okinawa. To them, shodan is equivalent to a baby learning how to walk. Over there, karate is part of school PE curriculum, and then they train after school, so they have way more hours per training day than most Western kids. It's not uncommon to see high schoolers reaching nidan there. In fact, if you're over 20 and still haven't gotten shodan, they tend to think you're a slow learner

  • @Karatekid29 I tend to agree with this, but then to some martial artits and Sensei's the black belt literally means that they have only just completed basics. This is something that is up for interpretation appanrantly.

I personally would not grade a someone under 14 to black unless they honestly pulled it off really well and have shown amazing character.

  • @lewiedafly my sensei says gaining black belt is only just the begining, well something like that haha.

  • im a black belt 6th Dan

  • there faces look like rats

  • Ushiro Gery AHHAAHAHAH This littel boy :D Look him :D

  • 1:05 lol :D

  • osu, good kime!

  • Just like me i am doing that exam on december this year but im fourteen lol 8 years of karate yeahh

  • i can tell that this kids would fuck you up if you steal their candy

  • They're soo cute and cool!!!

  • little killers.

  • It is amazing the focus and the technique of such kids. Congratulations on them and their sansei. Oss

  • wow! this is amazing!

  • my god if their like this now imagine when they are young adults.........

  • nice, I have 1 dan from '97 :)

  • those kids are scary they could kill you its scary

  • Considering a human child is not coordinated properly until about 11 years of age...

    ...I am very impressed.

  • These kids render the majority of the world's adult black belts worthless, even in respected organisations like the SKA.

  • Man they are just awesome, so cute :-)

  • If we can bring up children in this way, the future looks good, their concentration is amazing for their age, if I could get some adults like this I would be happy .

  • niños prodigio!!!

  • Its crazy how good these kids are for their age, seriously.

they are 1/4 to 1/5 of my age yet better than I am...

  • @bpmlad1999 Yeah, no matter how good one may become, there's always somebody better at least in one thing or another. Every martial artist who is honest whth himself/herself will eventually realize that. Which is why the whole debate of who is the best or what style is best is really an exercise in futility. Better to focus on being better today than they were yesterday, IMHO.

  • Outstanding......Great kime....and kiai....for their age....Better than some big guys...... ;

    ))))

  • when you think you're the best in one thing there will be always an asian better than you :(

  • i can point out a few flaws, but if you look at the levels, minor mistakes are nothing compared to the fact that they are doing this well at a very young age, i say, way to go and very great job, i was no where near that level at their age

  • thats awesome to see young kids doing so well......gotta love the sound of their kia's! lololol

  • they have better gyaku tsuki than mine

  • shit . . . these kids are better than me . . . i must train harder

  • bravissimi bambini :)

  • at all the schools i have trained in the black belt is not the endgoal of training but most just dont get to that level at all anyways....we have junior black belts and a 16yro age limit for a full black belt....we just dont want someone who is not mature enough to be responsible for several individuals and not abuse their position

  • @BushiWaazup adding dans is a waste of time... put more importance on whats already their instead of adding

  • Comment removed

  • woot? 1st dan exams? There too young...

  • they look like the exceptions but their should be age limits....even adults arents ready most the time for their black belt.

  • @Carl2 Actually this is very common in Japan and Okinawa. A lot of preteens receive their shodan there, because in the East shodan is seen as merely the true beginning of training. To them, shodan is equivalent to a child who has learned the basics of walking, and can now learn more complex types of movement. It's in the West that we treat shodan as an endgoal, as a symbol on inward maturity, but not so in the East. Many of the old masters attained shodan long before they were adults.

  • they are good, good, good, good and good...............with 10 more ears of practise they can kick all of our ass..... :P

sorry if my spelling is bad.... :)

  • i dont think they should be at the level of black belt because their mind and discipline most likely hasnt developed to a black belt standard...

    but good on them!

  • at a lot of the comments:

you guys look at a black belt to much as an end station, you see a blackbelt as some singn to say the owner is mature... well i need to disappoint you usa guys, that is only what YU guys made of it... a black belt is JUST the recognition that you know (and mastered) all BASIC techniques... originaly its just to make the difference between advance students and the rest (originaly in japan theres only white, brown and black... the rainbow is also comes from the usa)

  • @demediator ranking system started as a judo incorperation....even the white, brown, and black is not original...originaly their was no rank....just master and student and it was based on alot of hear say, reputation, years practice, and fights

  • That last comment iras reposting for my friend Sensei Valdes he wil have his account up soon

  • I can see how many ignorant people are in this world of ours, it seems to me that we feel that we know everything, about other, but the fact of the matter is that we don't, have any of you ignorant ever leaved in Japan, China, or Korea, you see I have, and by the way I was born in Havana, Cuba. My Grandmother is from china, I'm a 9th Dan in Tang Soo Do,a Rokudan in Okinawa Goju-Ryu, a Guro in Sayoc Kali, my younger student is 4years old, and instead of criticized this kids you ignorants should

  • They are fantastic!!.............and anyway that belt is only there to hold their Gi trousers up Lol! Age should'nt be a restriction in Katate!!

  • ils arrachent grave!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You know how many adults don't achieve the mental progress that makes a good black belt? LOL I say if their good at it, they earned it.

  • that's the best young girl martial artist i've ever seen and i've seen a lot

  • Mamma mia ;) che bello

    fatnastic

    love it!!!

  • Our dojo's children class starting at age 7, we do not accept under age children.

  • Oh look how cute! I would have gotten the Black belt of sailing at this age... if there was such a thing. However, now I started at karate at the age of 18, and I have chosen it myself, now that is where the journey starts!

  • Fantastic! I was taken back by the focus of the students!

  • they are kids who are exceptional for their age....the black belt is a beginner dan grade. No-one knows what these kids lives are like or what they have been through.

  • A h, and we need at least about 300h of lessons or Moore.

  • It looks good like for kids but people be serios. My teacher won't give to us black belt until we have 18 years old. He is 6 Dan and he know what he is saying. Sorry for my English.

  • well done, excellent work

  • wow

  • Wearing a black belt do not only show that the karateka has mastered the techniques, it also presents the physical fitness of the karateka. A kid still growing has not the level of physical fitness like a grown up. So in my opinion kids wearing black belt is just a bad joke.

  • Nice mullet!! LOL

  • @Roronoanne In Japan, a black belt, i.e. 1st dan is considered is the consolidation of basic training. Martial arts are also a way of life there rather than a "special sport". In other words, a black belt in Japan, is not a destination but just a stepping stone. During the few decades as martial arts took off in the West, teachers were finding pupils would leave after receiving their 1st black belt. Finally, physical training from a young age has many advantages), ask any gymnast!

  • Wow, very amaizing. I am not surprised that these kids are trained so goodl. If I came from the typical americanized/non traditional school seeing this, I would be very embarassed.

  • people in the martial arts, mostly the Japanese, used to talk bad about TKD master awarding 13 year old with black belt and here they are with a 6 and 7 YO. I hope they keep there mouth shut when I promote my 16 yo to 1st dan. If they dont I will send them this video..... and these kids are great!

  • that boy can kick my ass. and ill probably enjoy it

  • Beautiful, future senseis in the making.

  • Oh my gosh...they are so awesome!

  • wow! that is all I can say! These kids are amazing

  • omg..this is just...im spechless.-.- best i ever see on youtube ( of kids)

  • my God... they're fantastic !!!

    how old are them ?!

  • Impresionante!

  • excellent, masters of the future brilliant form and so young

  • very inspiring...need to train more...

  • IDK, kinda sloppy

  • I like this it is by far the best Ive seen of the younger Dan Grades....Sharp and fast.

Well focused,To be honest I have seen some adult dan grades with less techniques

and some that are sloppy. This is inspirational.....Right wheres my Gi.lol

    No seriouse they are good.

  • These guys are great. Black belt literally means new beginning or master of basics. I have seen so called masters not as sharp as these kids. There's alot of "karate" liberals out here that can perform perfect kata but cannot defend themselves to save their lives. All this to say that if the kids can past the curriculum test then they deserve the rank. Rank does not constitute SKILL its constitutes knowlege of application...

  • YES THEY ARE YOUNG.... BUT IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THEIR SKILL... I HAVE SEEN BLACK BELTS WHO HAVE TRAINED 20 YEARS AND ARE NOT AS GOOD OR SHARP AS THESE TWO YOUNG WARRIORS ...

The fact is they do deserve their black belts even if they are young, you can tell in their skill (which is better then a lot of black belt adults that i have seen)

Age dose not eliminate skill level, just level of wisdom

  • @THEpillows100 Black belt by definition is a mastery of basic techniques. I haven't seen more than this vid, but for their age it's rare to see such intensity and perfection of waza execution. They no doubt deserve their black belts. You have to consider context.

  • They are ridiculously cute! But seriously? If they are that impressive at this young age, just imagine how impressive they'll be later on down the road. That was great.

  • sustooooooooooooo.....

  • 1 dan a cinqe anni ??? Mi sembra strano ...

  • Wow They must have trained ALOT. They are excellent.

  • I've noticed that many compare to thier Karate schools in the United States to these Japanese kids. In many things the Japanese take commitment (especially in areas of Japanese culture) much more seriously than the United States. While many take MA in the US once or twice a week. These kids probably practice every day for hours and are under much pressure to do well. Don't get me wrong. Some in the US may take MA just as seriously, but, the expectations are much higher in Japan.

  • @cosmicburrito2 Agreed. MA is part of school curriculum in Japan and Okinawa, and then there's training after school. That many hours, it's not uncommon to see a karateka get their shodan in 2-3 years. Shodan has different meaning there than it does in US. Here's it's viewed as an endgoal, there it's just a beginning to a new stage, like having learned how to walk. Shodan means you get the basic idea of karate...sort of. So in some respects it's acceptable, if the child is physically ready.

  • Excellent. Thank you for sharing.

  • Excellent !

  • Fantastic!!! Let them teach lol. They're better than some idiots!

  • Your damn right they both passed.....

  • In my dojo you have to be 16 to test for black belt. Takes no less than 5 yrs of training to be considered, even for junior. But these two are very impressive.

  • Osu!

I am very impressed at their intensity. What an excellent example for Karate Ka around the Globe. My best wishes go out to these two young Karate Ka and my congratulations to their Sensei for helping to develop these young students into an excellent representation for the Karate Community.

Osu! Robert Torres Yodan - Crescent Moon Karate Dojo,

    Los Angeles, Ca.

  • Children should not hold the rank of Shodan

  • Superb ;-)

  • This is wonderful! Near Flawless. But I can tell you, I teach full time in my dojo and These kids are one in a billion! most kids this age have such a hard time focussing mentally and balancing themselves physically. I would feel so lucky to have kids at this caliber after only 3 - 4 years. It all goes back to what you teach and if your students actually apply what you teach after teaching the same thing over and over. most kids just don't have this kind of ability unfortunately. Well done!

  • @karatekid73 I teach children from 6-10 (or thereabouts) and, yes, one rarely sees anything like this in children this young. In my view, most kids have the physical ability to achieve excellent karate at a young age. What counts most is getting them into the correct headspace, and that, in my experience, is the biggest difference between Western and Eastern training - and it comes from culture.

  • i want to be a black belt soon but i will train hard

  • what style is this?

  • what style is this?

  • Way to go kids!!!

  • Children have very good technique! Done!

  • this is what am aiming to train for, they have good precision and excellent co-ordination, these two have inspired me to train harder

  • Little boy has incredible precision and coordination.

  • Its not the amount of years you have train but the amount of hours you train in these years.

If you train for 2 hours a week it wil take you a long time to reach a higher level, but if you train for 10-15 hours a week you wil progress a lot faster.

  • I think all you guys that are critizing these childrens understanding of karate are just trying to cover your own shortcomings. Your karate is obviously mediocre in comparison as you are clearly trying to lessen these kids greatness by demeaning their understanding of the art of karate. But at the end of the day, they're japanese, their ancestors developed the art of karate. They are born to it. And clearly from this demo they display an understanding of the art that you probably only wish for!

  • @TerraSt0rm I would agree 100% except for "understanding karate because they r japanese or born into it". We mustn't confuse cultural background with karate understanding. It is not likely an 8 - 9 year is on the same level of understanding of BUDO or maturity of an adult just becuz they r capable of displaying solid Kihon fundamentals. Physical limitations vary person to person. Sensei KASE anyone? One of the most inspiring teachers and known for his physical limitations.

  • amarillos kliaos estupidos no tienen nada mejor k hacer que fomentar la violencia , si no es en el mar es en tierra con los pobres niños , en fin unos weones enfermos , y pensar k a esto le dicen "deporte" , una soberana mierda

  • @chikops2 Criticisms this video and you like the video games of fights, you contradict themselves.

  • La bimba e' un fenomeno e' merita il Primo Dan il bimbo pur bravo non era secondo me ancora pronto...io ci ho messo 5 anni poi altri 2 quando ho ripreso la pratica...

  • Woooowww :| impresionante!!!

  • ¡¡Fenomenal!!!...

  • It's official... I'm never going to adopt.

  • OH SHIT!!!!! that was amazing I'm eleven and I only have a yellow belt in shotokan karate

  • what a wonder full performance

  • excelent wish i have half the tecnique of this boy and this girl

  • Well, I think you could force almost every child to perform such "good" techniques, but I doubt that a 7 year old can achieve the mental progress that makes a blackbelt.

Anyone can wear a Black belt, but few are able to represent their grade.

I don't say anything against them, they're good in their way, but I prefer the 18-years-minimum of the SKIF

    Oss!

  • @Roronoanne STFU!!!!! Lol jokes, i agree.

  • @Roronoanne agreed

  • bravo oss.

  • Generally, there is a difference between a "child" black belt and an "adult" black belt. In our school, any child who gets a black belt before 17 are required to "retake" the dan test to keep it. In this test they need to show understanding of technique.

  • They do Kihon better than more blackbelt karatekas!!! Very good example!!!!to make and see diferences!!

    Oss

  • very good!!!!!!!!!!!!!grate job!

    Oss!

  • maaan wtf ...thats all fucked upp & shit

  • in my day, the JKA had a minimum age threshold for 1st Dan because you had to do Kihon, Kata AND Kumite without exception. This was over 20 years ago and I guess they changed it. I started in the JKA when I was 8 and was not approved for 1st Dan until I was 15-16. I spent a lot of the time training during my 3rd Kyu and 1st Kyu years.

  • I mean these kids can replicate karate forms required for 1st dan but do they

    a. understand the content of those forms

    b. can use it effectively

normally it takes long time to understand. the forms themselves are basics.

  • @balamut5 What do you expect kids to be able to understand and apply at such a young age? Think about this. No matter how good they are (lot of kids can be amazingly good at flexibility) their developing brains likely will not be able to process to the depth of an adult - unless they're a born genius. While I do think they deserve their BB's, it might suitable to retake it when they get older. As for waza, they were perfect at execution and that's all I think we can reasonably expect.

  • the technique is okay for 1st dan, though... is it beneficial to give black belts to such young kids, I'm not sure.

  • These kids did great. I know a lot of karatekas with less precise and strong technique who practice since before these kids were born!

I would be proud of being their father!

  • soh digo uma coisa: é japa

  • great dicipline with these kids.

  • os piás são fora do sério...

espero que o meu exame de

kuro obi não seja tão puxado...

    oss

  • absolutely incredible

  • So nice

    This movie remember my father!

  • Io fare delle tecniche così bene stento ancora adesso che ho 22 anni HAHAHAAAA

  • they are very good but our federation didn't give black belt to children under 14....

  • Wow - Incredible to think of children so young as black belts - they have great technique!

  • Comment removed

  • Ok, now I know that both my entire martial arts career and my black belt test that I'm going to give in a week are completely pointless.

  • Very well, but ,how many KATA,are required for first

DAN? And what is theirs name?...Please!

  • Absolutely amazing!

  • these kids are better than most adults i have seen. it really show the difference between western training and japanese training. i think we could all use them for inspiration both for ourselves and for we teach

  • Muito bom mesmo! Impressionante!

    Very good! Awesome!

    Oss

  • Awesome, congratulations :-)

  • woooow they are started with 1 year old??

  • as 3 year olds

  • its really incredible!

  • Good lawd that's impressive.. how long did they train before this?

  • 3 years for the boy and 4 years for the girl
