@TheAmtrakboy - The light switches automatically from white to red when you change the direction from forward to reverse so nothing custom was done to this set.
Thanks, I can have the Acela run faster, but it sometimes derails around the curves. I do have the missing ICE coach which I bought a few months later after making this video.
@electricrails Have you tried super elevating the curves just slightly? I have 18 radius curves on my layout, and My Atlas AEM-7 goes through those curves at full speed. No derailments with the passenger cars either except occasionally when the trains crosses over to the second track....
When I built a new layout I plan on elevating the curves. I had built this layout years ago just to run the trains around the christmas tree and ended up keeping it in another room just to test run some of my collections.
thats pretty cool, i dont have the ICE because its too expensive, but i have all the French TGV's, Eurostar, Talgo, and 3 HST125's including my Amtrak collection. Iguess it adds up to more than what the ICE costs. That ICE would look pretty sharp on my layout.
Which HST's do you have mate? They are probably my favourite - but then being a Brit I suppose I'm a bit biased! I sometimes wish we could have trains as fast as the TGV and Shinkansen over here, but things are getting better with the Pendolino's and obviously we've had the Eurostars for a while. I've just managed to get hold of a Hornby GNER Eurostar in the dark blue livery - looks even better than the regular one! Anyway, I'm probably boring everyone now, so I'll go....!!!! Cheers, mate.
Nice! A branch of the Midland Mainline runs at the bottom of my garden. The green livery was my favourite, but then they changed it, and now Midland Mainline is gone altogether. We now have a company called East Midlands Trains on the route - and I must admit the HST's look pretty smart in their new livery. Thanks for the reply! Cheers.
the ICE train is the amtrak version, amtrak was considering eaither the ICE or the acela, the acela one, but the ICE with a small Amtrak title was made
I love how your Acela Express has six cars and not threem just like in the real world.

Nice work!! Can you have the Acela going at full speed, or is that as fast as it can go? Also, the ICE train is missing a coach...

Does the acela have a decoder in it if so what type
apl1031 2 years ago
I have not installed one yet, but am in the process of looking for one.
During my research I found that either a TCS TH150DP decoder or NCE D14SRP decoder can be used.
